Gaming-Age Roundup SUX

The reviewer put this as a CONS for ASB 2005

"Zone hitting is broken"

Flocking broken? I had to go back and read the entire long review to see what he ment my this and it turns out he was complaning about is the bat/ball collision detection and how it is too forgiving. Fine. I agree but to call that BROKEN is a bit of a slanderous streach considering MVP has ADMITTED to having BROKEN lefty batting physics and everyone also knows it has BROKEN player progression yet NEITHER was highlighted in the cons for that game.

Then to top it off the guy said another con of ASB is "Poor Crowd sounds". Has he really played thsese titles because ASB sounds like a damn Metalica concert compared to ESPN's crowd yet THAT was not an issue for him with that game.

I thought JRods DigitalSportpage Blog was very appropiate for the way I feel right now.

Um....I would hate to say this but he is right. Player progression still at least works for the 1st two years as a lot of us dont have the time in our lives to play several years of MVP seasons.

However an actual in-game flaw like Zone Hitting is really bad. That is an actual part of the game and it is INSANELY easy to hit homers. On field broken items should always take priority..

Yeah, on field BROKEN items like the admitedly broken lefty ball physics sould TAKE PRIORITY. I have used Zone Batting for 40+ games on classic pitch speed. You do see rare occasions when the ball/bat contact is late or too forgiving. You do see a few more home runs but to call it INSALELY easy is [censored]. None of my CUBS after 1/2 a season lead in HRs even though I make good contact with the ball and have 3 guys in the top 15 NL Batting Avg. Sosa is in the top 5 but I don't think that is such an INSANE stat.

If you want to apply your definition of 'broken' to games then MVP has ;
broken basestealing
broken fielding
broken h&r
broken progression (yes, some people BUY these titles for FRANCHISE mode and easily play more than 2 seasons - if not why the hell does ever dev make this feature a top priority?)
broken pitching (since I can hit my mark with ANY pitcher be it after 1 pitch or 100 I am deadly accurate with my golf swing)
and as mentioned broken ball physics

The point is BROKEN is a very wrong negative to use - especially if you are someone who is partially responsible for the making or braking of developers.

I have to agree with Warner tho, Zone IS broken. I played about 20-30 games with zone and didn't hit ONE foul ball. Homers were too easy to come by, and the ball NEVER came close to the lines.......

After switching to the 2D cursor, pretty much everything was rectified for me......
