Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?

MLB 2k12 Sold 500,000 Copies. And that is with people knowing it was pretty much garbage. People desperate for a baseball game but not willing to buy a Playstation JUST for a baseball game would gobble up any baseball game. EA needs to get the idea out of their head that they can compete with NBA 2K and end NBA Live and bring back MVP Baseball. They have a huge following, it would easily sell 1 million + copies and would give PS users a option opposed to the show. MLB gets $$ out of it since all they have to do is say "OK" and sign the contract and EA will stop dumping money into the NBA Live Pit and be the Only option on XBONE for Baseball. As long as they keep the base of MVP intact it would sell like crazy

Why would you guys want EA to make a comeback with a sports game? Time after time EA gets exposed for their poor gameplay and graphics. Unless EA makes a baseball game with graphics up to par with The Show and improved gameplay it would be a trash game. I cant even name you one good sports game EA is good at making. FIFA is their best seller sports game, and honestly the gameplay is pretty good its not amazing and graphics...dont even get me started at least on next gen they arent that good, 2k and The Show set the standards and EA will never be on that level.

        Not so fast.

Mvp was head and shoulders better than the show, still is in my opinion. The show has better graphics because it's a newer game but Mvp's gameplay is much better. Also the Nhl franchise is an excellent product.

          Not a chance.
That statement is laughable to say the least.
          Slow your own roll.
          I'm not saying MVP isn't a nice old game....but...

The Show didn't even have better gameplay than the last two 2K games, in my opinion. And it also trails MVP and High Heat. Statistically, it still trails FPS BBPro.

But sure does have a lot of pretty pixels. It was sure nice of Sony to include Quick Counts and Player Lock so that Show fans play less of the game, and spend more time bragging about its "depth."

Sony may have killed off any chance of anyone making a baseball sim that is actually fun to play. It sells like poop and its fans admonish people that don't like it as not being intense enough. What they have done is convinced the one multi-million fan base to believe that baseball games suck.

I do wonder if anyone will try to enter the market again. When you see the reaction when anyone mentions a preference for any other game it becomes obvious that the climate is not conducive to a new game.

Haha....too funny to even comment on.

              Good one though.
I like the new tact you're taking!
              It's...imaginative!(maybe more like a hallucination....but I digress)

              But when thing hasn't changed....
              Someone says...The Show...
              Someone else says.....Ha!...this is better...
Another says ....nah.....The Show is where it's at...
But in the end....the woe is me is always falls to the "persecuted" guy who doesn't like The Show.
              NEVER FAILS.

The show would be a fantastic game if they would get rid of the pitcher batter duel they use and adopt the pys model. Even Hunter Pence in the video he made with puig said "so is there actually any skill involved in this". He hit the nail on the head there.

Lol... And your post was?? My response was in regards to your response, which btw was quite condescending Imo. There's plenty of ppl that play the show that do point out some of the same points you have about its short comings. If you truly enjoy high heat and mvp (both good games in there time no doubt) then play them, no problem here. Maybe just try not to group all the ppl that play or like the show better into one. Here's to hoping plenty more companies do jump into the fray and that we all end up with more choices!!

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?

Hi i'm a bit new to the forums and its my first reply.

I understand that many players on this forum (baseball) would like to see an xbox 360/one baseball game.

If there was a game in the talks, albeit a new game never seen in the states, what would the users on this forum like to see?

I know its a general question, but any input would be great to see, and hopefully we can get a baseball game out for xbox by next year.
What better opinion would we want then that of the sports game fanatics on this forum!

Sorry to the OP. I'm a newb poster so i guess I can't start a new thread and this seems like a good thread to add onto.

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?

Speaking only for myself, I would love to see a baseball game come out that is oozing with atmosphere (like the Show) but almost a little more user-controlled in the gameplay. I love the Show but often times I feel like I am steering animations rather than controlling everything on the field. Admittedly I have not played the last 2 versions so maybe it has improved and it is a great game.

I loved feeling like I controlled every interaction and things were so much more responsive to user input in some of the older games. It is also possible I am just old. I would love if they could take the baseball stars or pro spirits engines and license them for a next gen baseball game as another possible option.

The Show certainly does an awful lot right though so in no way knocking it.

There are so many people who bought a PS4 because of the Show. I used to be an XBOX guy but after the 2k baseball mess I crossed over and bought a PS3 in 2009 solely because of The Show and that was the reason there was no hesitation when it came to Next gen, PS4 because of The Show.

After seeing the screen shots of R.B.I Baseball, I feel sorry for any baseball lovers who went XBOX1.
lets not get crazy here MLB the show did not move that many consoles as you think in general sports games don't because of the span of how long they last a few months and it has no value

i didn't play MLB 14 because i sold my ps4 because i just got bored of baseball im sure it's a great game i played the last MLB game all yr alone nothing else but not too many gamers can do that they want to try other games

so far as exclusivity goes but it would be nice to see them do an MLB game for the One.
