Does the Roster Update affect the Expansion draft

Are some people out while others are in? And, since some guys have a new team does that mean different players disappear in each round as the team protects its additional players?

Most likely, yes.

It effected who was in the pool in last year's game.

So, to answer my own question, yes. I got the roster update and found Kaz Matsui and Joe Mauer among others just waiting to be drafted.
