Uni changes don't stick for CPU team

Can someone plz tell me how to change the CPU teams uni? I change it at the controller select screen, it shows the uni I want, then I go into the game and the CPU team is wearing the default. what am I doing wrong?

Im on Xbox, so depending on your controller here goes:
Suppose the CPU is your away team.
Go in Choose the UNi. Then go STRAIGHT to the next menu screen where you see your gameplay options
Dont choose anything, just hit B to go Back
Switch over and choose your uni, then go Menu, choose your options... and play away. CPU should have the Uni you want

I appreciate you guys trying to help, but I have PS2 version. I did what you said but when I go BACK to the controller screen, the controller is under the CPU team and when I switch it to my team, the CPU jersey changes to default....HELP!

Tbanks for the tip ldpart67! This has been bugging me.
It reminds me of several Sega games where they include a ton of alternate/retro jerseys, but don't allow you to use them in season games. I am glad there is a work around in ASB.

Crackerjack...I have the PS2 version also. You pick your opponent's jersey, then hit X to go to options. Hit O to go back to the jersey screen, and move the controller to your team, and proceed as usual. Even though your opponent's jersey is shown as home or away, the alternate should show up in the actual game.
