Well, with Bonds not being in the game and Wes Mailman being horrible, you only have Sammy really being the only threat of 50. At 40, it's still not that many guys: Pujols, maybe Bagwell, and Sexson. I certainly could live with a few guys hitting 40, since that seems to be a reasonable number now (except for Bonds). Also, 115 RBI is a lot as well. Sure you may have a fluke year like Preston Wilson last year and go 130+, but 110-120 is still a hell of a lot.

Re: no go for realistic stats i guess....

last year there were about 30 people above 100 RBIs in the MLB... in ASB, simulated I get about 13.... that's low... HRs overall are very low as well. In my simulated seasons, only ONE time did I have a team hit over 200 HRs... in fact, usually there was maybe one team with 190.

in all honesty after investigating, it looks like RBIs are way low and HRs are a little low. i'm probably too picky i guess. ESPN is closer to real life numbers, but I think I like to play ASB more and that's probably what's most important.

My first season with the Braves and Chipper lead the league with 45 Hr's and between 130-140 RBI"s. CHipper had 90 RBI's at all star break in season 2. Stats are a little low, but it isn't that bad. Besides, I don't think real baseball will have many guys hitting 50+ HR's anymore.

Re: no go for realistic stats i guess....

Okay...you got me nuts again...so I simmed another 6 seasons and checked the stats. Here is the last one...they were all similar.

ASB NL AVG. 15 top hitters from .341 to .300
MLB NL AVG. 15 top hitters from .359 to .305

                  ASB AL AVG. ................... .322 to .308
                  MLB AL AVG. ................... .326 to .302

ASB NL HR ................... 42 to 26 (Andruw had 30 and Chipper had 28(in 120 games))
MLB NL HR ................... 47 to 31 (Andruw had 36 and Chipper had 27)

                  ASB AL HR ................... 47 to 29
                  MLB AL HR ................... 47 to 29

RBI's were a bit lower, but hits were right up there...in the AL even better. I'm not saying that it did not happen when you simmed, but did you sim more than one time to check out if you just had an off year? The stats in ASB are slightly lower than the MLB, but as Heel said...I don't think 50 is going to be the norm for alot of guys...some will get close(Bonds looks like he'll do it again), but I'm pretty happy with the way they beefed up ASB's offense this year.
