    Vacuum Effect

What's up with this in ASB 2005??

    It's worse than ever!!

I've seen the ball vacuumed in from all kinds of weird angles. And it doesn't look good.

Example. Grounder to second baseman, the ball is redirected half way and vacuumed up by the fielder. It was very weird and looked bad at the same time.

I wish I could capture pics to show it to you guys.

    How can Acclaim miss this??

I agree with you about it being bad. It seems worse than last year. I still love the game, but man, that needs to change for next year. I see it happen maybe once a game, but it is not a "gamekiller" for me.

          Re: Vacuum Effect

The worst one i've seen so far happened the other day. I think it was more of a game error than a vacuum effect but it was still weird. I had a left handed batter up to the plate. I pulled the ball and judging by the trajectory of the ball and the camera following it, it looked as if the ball was going to carry to the wall. However, upon contact the right fielder began immediately running in and somehow the ball ended up in his glove right at the infield dirt.

                Re: Vacuum Effect

I agree, it's very bad. The worst I saw was at Fenway. The CPU hit one to left center and I took control of Manny Ramirez to chase the ball. I messed up and took more of a direct line at the ball when I should've run towards the Green Monster. Anyhow I realized that too late and realized the ball was going to roll right past Manny because he wasn't fast enough to cut it off. Somehow the ball miraculousy did a 90 degree turn and ended up in Manny's glove. The ball practically "jumped" from Left Center to Leftfield and into Manny's glove.

I also hit a rope in the same game in between 3rd and SS. Ball clearly was getting through, but the CPU third baseman dove and the ball took another 90 degree angle right into his glove.

I only see it once every like....ten games, maybe. I don't see what the problem is.
