    Re: Working scoreboards?

Yah! the stadiums in general are light years ahead of the competion. I was playing a game in ESPN the other night Boston vs Texas in Texas and they show a scene of my pitcher with the scoreboard in the backround and the only score I see is BOS vs CHI. I know its minor but it realy takes away from the feel of the game, it's even worse in ESPN because the atmosphere is already lacking.

Whats worse is that I traded in my copy of ASB for ESPN(what was I thinking ). I miss ASB a lot, I guess I'll have to pick up a used copy.

IMO, ESPN's stadiums are pretty impressive. They may not have working scoreboards or the near perfect autenticity of ASB's stadiums, they do add some nice touches. The cars running in the background at Safeco. The interesting backdrop beyond the fences in Forbes Field and Dodger stadium. The washroom signs in stadiums like Forbes.

If I would rate the stadiums in each game, I'd give ESPN a solid 9, ASB a 9.5 and MVP a 6.

I wasn't trying to say that ESPN's stadiums where bad, it's just that ASB's are that good. I think the big difference comes in the old time ballparks in ESPN the field looks like it was just installed, it takes away from the oldtime feel but in ASB the fields look as if they are older. It's a feel that ASB captures in the old parks that ESPN doesn't IMO. I even think MVP got the feel right for the old time parks, something about the playing surface makes them look more authentic. I am not saying the stadiums are better in MVP over ESPN but they got the feel of old time baseball right in the retro stadiums. When I play a game in the Polo Grounds in ESPN: I think this park looks like it was built yesterday. In MVP I think this feels like old time baseball(especially with the old school uni's). In ASB I think this history, this is what baseball is all about.

I guess it's more of an atmosphere thing than the actual ballparks but isn't atmosphere what baseball is all about. It is IMO and ASB does it better than the rest.

Playing the other night in Crosley Field, Start warming a pitcher up, on the sidelines, and the hitter throws the bat, my pitcher warming up, jumps out of the way..... I was impressed...
