Your advice please.

I'm having some difficulties in ASB. Here is my problem.

I'm playing my expansion team (Nebraska Tornadoes) and I've noticed the following issues.

#1. I'm hitting a little too well. My profile says my average is .335. This using an expansion team. So you'd say, well just go up a notch in difficulty right? Well then we have problem #2.

#2. I can't pitch worth a damn. My profile ERA is 5.60! Last night my #5 starter gave up 14 hits and 11 runs in 3 innings! I've only pitched ONE game where I did NOT give up double digit hits! I just really can't pitch!

My settings are only Veteran difficulty, classic(fast) pitch speed, assisted fielding.

Now I figure I could speed up the pitch speed to make it a little bit harder for me to hit, but that doesn't solve my pitching problems. Oh what I wouldn't do for a 1-2-3 inning! You suggestions are appreciated.

What type of batting are you using ( zone, classic ect )?

All i can suggest is practice,mix em up,change pace ect. I know everyone says this but its true. Or just keep muckin away and eventually it just clicks and you'll find your niche. Whats your staff like.

My staff isn't super great. I am in year 3 of my expansion.

My top guy is Javier Vasquez. He is decent, I can get about 8 K's with him. But he still gives up about 10 hits in 7 innings.

I have seriously never given up less hit's then innings pitched yet. Maybe I'm too aggressive in pitching strikes. It seems like the CPU has a REAL good eye and doesn't chase much. But sometimes I'll throw a slider that's 6 inches outside and low and they'll still hit a double.

You could try the 2D cursor. That should bring down the average a bit.

I have struggled with pitching as well. It actually got a little better for me when I turned off the strike zone....perhaps I was throwing too many strikes? I also have the defensive positioning set to auto.

I have also noticed that the CPU hitting seems just as tough on rookie as it does on the higher levels. They should add a pitching tutorial next year.
