On 1st base, press and hold Y then press L (while still holding Y). On 2nd base press and hold X then press L. On 3rd press and hold A then press L.

Good luck though, cause you'll need it if the guy's speed is anywhere below a B+.

Re: How Do You Steal Bases?

I like classic baserunning much better. You press Y and then toward the base the runner is ON to advance. For example, Y then right on the pad for a runner on first. I had way too many baserunning blunders with the new controls, the classic is much more responsive and easier to control for me.

The ONLY way you are going to steal bases is to have a big lead with a speedy runner and catch the pitcher on a high leg kick. If they do a slide step, you are dead unless its a changeup. I've noticed a lot of pitchers won't use the slide step on the first pitch of the at bat, 1-0, and 1-1 counts. The also usually don't slide step when a runner is on 2nd. If you get a good jump you can get many steals with Furcal, Drew, and Andruw Jones stealing 3rd. Also, there's a good chance that some catchers will throw it over the third baseman's head giving you an easy run.
