    The best?!?

Hey guys, you haven't led me wrong yet (ESPN Football, Inside Drive)...I am a baseball nut, stat cruncher, will play anything involving baseball. I have played MVP--Fun game, does alot of things right, but as discussed a million times, does some things wrong. I just started getting into ESPN and I like it, but I could see it might get a little redundant after a while. I bought ASB and played it sparingly for about two weeks and traded it in. Mistake? I am having some doubts. I guess I have started more dynasties than BK. I did the same thing with Inside Drive and you guys talked me back into it and I fell in love with it (Sucks that there is not a new one coming). Is ASB the ID of baseball? I could take awkward animations if the gameplay is spot on. I usually hate cursors and I found the zone hitting flawed in my little time. Any thoughts on my rant? I appreciate any comments, good and bad, about this game. Thanks again. BTW--I only have an XBox so MLB is out of the question.

Well, I did the same exact thing as you(bought ASB and then traded it in) and I regreted it so much that I went out and bought it again. I still think it has a lot of problems as far as gameplay is concerned but there is just something about it that keeps drawing me in. Whether it be the gorgeous stadiums or the baseball atmosphere, maybe it's the great commentary, I don't know.
I play MVP more often but ASB is a nice change of pace. There are times when I'll play ASB for 1-2hrs and not play an actual game just BP or stadium tours or HR Derby. I can't say that about any of the other baseball games. With ESPN the gameplay is great but I found the game to be repetitve and the horrid swing animations still bugged me after 30+ games. Hopefully one of these companies will step up next year and fix there problems(Acclaim).

Thanks for your response. I haven't picked it back up, but I might today. Like you said, there is something about it that is drawing me back. MVP is fun and I just finished playing an entire season with the Yanks. The offseason was disappointing as many free agents are left unsigned. ESPN is good, but for some reason I am not into it yet. Maybe it's because I can't decide on a team to do a dynasty. ASB is calling me for the expansion team. Who knows?

I love this game because if the feel of it. Once you get the hang of baserunning (controlling individual runners is the key) and the fielder cam the game really shines over the long haul. just my 2 cents
