Re: Getting past the frustration and getting a better understanding

No, no guess pitch. If I'm wrong the cursor gets smaller and I don't need that.

Man, I think if you just give it some time. One thing I do use is generated pitch count, RANDOM. That seems to help me make choices.

For example, if I'm 3-0 I know I'm taking a least one pitch.
If I'm 0-2 I know the CPU should be nibbling. I'm I'm 2-1. 3-1 I'm thinking the CPU is going to be around the plate.

I like the idea of generated counts and I use them sometimes for the first couple of innings; but it messes up pitcher fatigue too much. I don't want to edit the pitchers. I do the position players and I don't mind where their health rating lands; but messing with the pitchers ratings effects their total effectiveness rating and their individual pitch ratings which would really screw up the reality.

Damn ragnar you and me need to hook up. I am the complete opposite of you. I can hit like crazy. Last night on legend, fastest pitch settings I got 11 runs and 24 hits!

My problem? In over 40 games I have NEVER pitched more innings that allowed hits. The FEWEST hits I've ever allowed in a game it 10! I can stike out guys fine but when they connect it's never to a fielder! Even on rookie they will shell me. I'm pretty much throwing in the towel os ASB. I have put so much into it but I'm fed up with it.

I think I'm just gonna write off baseball this year and wait for NCAA football. I think across the board all games have been big disappointments this year. ASB coulda been great but instead makes me tear my hair out of my head!

Re: Getting past the frustration and getting a better understanding

I give up my share of hits and I'm last in the league in strikeouts...but I've given up far fewer homeruns than anyone else in baseball and I seem to get the outs when I need them. It certainlyhelps to have the Cubs pitching staff.

Try intentionally throwing more balls out of the strikezone..not just on 0-2 counts...Also don't go too much to a hitter's cold zone...move the ball around..Worry more about pitching to your pitcher's strenghts ...not the hitter's weakness(save that for late in the game when you need an out badly). Also, do your own defensive positioning based on how you're going to work the hitter and also based on what park you are playing in.

The game can work. Just threw my controller at the t.v. (just kiddin')

                        Cubs 2 8 1
                        Pads 1 7 0

I had runners on first and third, bottom of the 9th, Klesko hits a rocket one hopper to second, 4-6-3, game over.

                              Ha, I've cracked the code!

I played two games last night and gave up 2 runs in each and 9 and 8 hits allowed respectively. How did I do it after always allowing double digit hits in 40+ games?....COLD ZONES.

I never even paid attention to those. Well I will from now on. They can still hit in their cold zone, just not as well, and they also swing and miss more there. MUCH better.

Now I think I can play this again. My one big gripe with this game is the fielding control. Every damn nubber off the plate is a sure hit for the CPU cuz it taked my picther/catcher a year to pick the damn thing up and throw it to first. Too many infield singles!

Overall though I'm glad I can finally pitch! Hit those cold zones people!
