    ASB 2003: Any pitching tips??

    Howdy,

I am now 40 games into my ASB season playing on Veteran level. Hitting is getting better but my team ERA is a whopping 7.02 and doesn't seem to be improving and has become frustrating. I have tried mixing up pitches, using the hot/cold zones, throwing in and out of the strikezone, trying to get ahead in the count, pitch history etc. but I am still getting pounded by the computer.

Any pitching tips and tricks are welcome. I should point out that I control the fielders which probably accounts for some hits due to my poor fielding. I prefer to keep it on since I don't merely want to hit and pitch only.

    TIA,
    BZ

In regards to fielding, you can switch to assisted fielding, which controls the fielder until you move the analog button,or control the throw. It sounds pretty much like your doing what needs to be done. The change up is a very effective pitch. Who are you using as your team?

I usually do good when I keep the ball down, and when I get 2 strikes on the batter I either throw a high fastball or a breaking ball out of the strike zone.

Thanks for the tips. Played a game tonite with the fielding set to 'Assist'. I won 5-1 with 10 hits against me. Is that the setting most people play with? No fielding seems pretty difficult...

BTW, I play the Expos. Starting rotation is decent with Colon, Vasquez, Armas Jr., Ohka and Moshii. Relief pitching is mediocre to average.

        Thanks,
