The AI is too easy.....any suggestions on how to fix this??

I'm sick of always winning in this game. Too many times during the game the AI will have something like runers on 2nd and 1st with 1 out and then I'll get the opposition to pop out twice (most of the time into foul ground). How can I fix this? Any suggestions? I just want to see the AI manufacture runs in a couple of innings (especially a team like Boston or Anaheim, of whom I can easily hold to 2 or 3 runs a game as of now). I just want to get my [censored] kicked once in a while and fear lineups.

    Also sucks when...

The CPU hits the ball in the gap and they only get a single.

They don't go home on a sac fly.

They don't take advantage of errors.

Try playing on All Star difficulty, 2D cursors, no pitching or hitting aids, manual fielding, random generated count. Random count makes you sometimes only have one strike to get a hit. Also you'll see realistic walks, strikeouts and pitch counts. I get my [censored] handed to me a lot with these settings, but also have some close games and some offensive outbursts. Also great hit variety. I noticed if you go up to HOF or Legend, the cursor is smaller and not as much hit variety. I am the Cardinals 2 games above 500 70-68, 8 games behind wildcard and 20games behind Astros in late September. Its not easy trust me.

you may be getting a challenge but that sounds nothing like a realistic game of baseball. there should be no reason you have to do all that stuff to get a challenge in the game.

How is this not realistic? You do get realistic stats with these settings. Anyway, It is a video game and some of us dont have 45 min to play a game. You can play a game in 20 min with this setup.

                            Bonk,

The CPU hits the ball in the gap and they only get a single.

This has to do with the outfielders ratings for RANGE and ARM STRENGTH along with many of the players SPEED ratings being way to low.

Knight and I came up with a solution that works. If you look at the team editor and each team you will see that most outfielders have A ratings. Way too high. Many players have speed ratings of D. Way too low.

What you need to do is decrease the outfielders RANGE and ARM STRENGTH to around C, C+ for all. Increase all runners speed to at least a B. You will see those gappers and balls off the walls turn into doubles. You'll see runners tag up and score.
