before I buy, can anyone answer these few Questions...

Ive been a MVP fan since last year and played it this year and I really love this game, but I got too good at hitting so now its getting some what boring. So im looking to try out ASB, I played 2003 and 2004 version but got hooked on mvp.

a few question I have are these.

    1) Do they still give it away when you hit a homerun with the replay crap or do they let you watch it go over the fence.

    2) Do the White Sox have fireworks when they hit homeruns?

    3) Can you use player lock still (like be the center fielder, and you'll turn into him when the ball is hit out there) If yes how does the computer play vs each other (too many hits, not enough hits, ect)

    4) Do they still have the vacuum catches?

Thanks in advance, looking for a quick reply, because I want to go buy the game but im lookin for these answers before I buy it.

Well, I play both games, MVP and ASB and I think you will like it. It is harder to hit than MVP. The cursor batting is the way to go.

So I'll try to answer you.

#1 Some of the HR's are great cut scenes, and some you find out they are HR's as they clear the fence. The Cut Scenes are pretty good. There's one where the pitcher turns to watch it go, then falls off the mound.

#2 Haven't played the Pale Hose so not sure?

#3 They still have the player lock, but have added a Fielder Cam, that has you become the fielder that the ball is hit too, in his perspective. The first few times I played with fielder cam I hated it... But now I like it a lot. It also does away with the vaccum effect. The CPU's baseball is played very well, and the stats are pretty good.

#4 Yes, except in Fielder Cam Mode

I bought it and I really like it, but it didnt update any of the trades. Is there anyway to trade out of franchise mode?

I turn off the cutscenes, so I can watch the ball sail over the fence. However it isn't too suspenseful. CPU Outfielders don't take a step, and Brenneman lets us know it is gone pretty early. Same deal with foul balls. Brenneman will call a hot liner foul immediately, and then a few seconds it falls 2 millimeters outside the line. A little touch that would make for alot more suspense.

Not to mention that the no cutscene feature is pretty useless when you hit one to the Green Monster at Fenway... since you don't know where the ball is going.
