Simulation game advice
I have a friend who's in his late 70s, very good with computers, and plays games all the time. Card games, trivia games, online casual games but he's a huge sports buff. So, I thought, he'll never play a game like The Show, but he would totally dig a game where he could load up his Yankees, and play a season like he was coaching from the dugout. But I know the business stuff and finances would bore him to tears and he'd find it excessive. So I just wanted to find him a sitting in the dugout, calling plays in the game, kind of game experience if there was one. Maybe even without minors to make it simpler. An historic element of classic teams would be cool too, but not crucial.Tags: None -
Re: Simulation game advice
I never imagined it would be easy to find what I'm looking for but also have to be precise because if he finds it mildly annoying he won't play. OOTP's gameplay is perfect. I sort of wish the play by play text was in a longer window and easier to read but the game actually plays great. I just want the game to end and for it to go to nothing more than a menu with standings, stats leaders, and team management. And to have nothing going on behind the scenes. Just pure mathematical simulation with OOTP gameplay. I realise I may be asking for something the sim market simply doesn't offer.Last edited by tinpanalley; 01-30-2018, 11:06 AM.Comment

Re: Simulation game advice
That sounds like a great option here, I did not think of that. Without career/franchise issues, there is no budget or salaries or any of that stuff he does not want.Comment

I don't see any way to try Strat-o-matic free. I wish OOTP could just turn OFF all those extra micromanagement elements.Comment
