    Re: manage only

I sure hope so , it's not like it's a big thing to put in a game ...
EA sports and Sega should stop putting things like homerun derby or unlockables or any boyish things like that ..and should try to make a real baseball games .
having to pay 60$ for a game where no leftys can hit HR's ...or to see hitter swing a broomstick ( like in Sega ) ..come on .
there should be a collective ban of these games for next year ...that way maybe we would get our money's worth the year after

        Re: manage only

I doubt that we are ever going to see a true manage only mode like the OLD High Heat games or the ASB games.
I play ASB only in manage only mode and love it.
MVP's pi$$ poor attempt at manage only was laughable and if they don't improve on it(seriously doubt it), then it looks like I will pass on MVP this year.
If I must PLAY a game...it's going to be ESPN or MLB.
        Sorry.

From Kolbe at 989 Sports (MLB 2006)

mweldon (posts at IGN) said that the team might (keep in mind the word might) be working on alternative camerica views for the manage-only mode of the game.

That would be great if it gets done.
            Kolbe:
Manage Only Mode will indeed have a few different cameras... The goal is to give a managers perspective of the game.

Does teh manage-only mode allow you to watch the game with every move you make, or is it just a "sim" feature like in ESPN Baseball? I'm actually considering buying the PS2 unit SPECIFICALLY to get this game
            Kolbe:
Manage Only Mode *IS* in game - *YES* you watch - *YES* you can call plays/influence/etc.

The SIM feature was in last years game... SportsCast Manager... MOM (love the acronym) takes the same principles, improves them, and sticks them into the game!

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

                WOW
                YankeePride, thank you!
I had not noticed this when I skimmed over the news of MLB2006
                This is GREAT news.

I liked MLB quite a bit last year and thought it has the most potential of all the games.
Thanks again and that's a good pickup.

                    Holy Smokes!!

This will be great news to my friend who is MOM. He's still playing HH2k3 and it needs a rest. I just hope that it's along the lines of ASB and NOTHING like what was in MVP.
