    High Heat Zone Hitting Interface

I was and still am a huge High Heat baseball fan. The graphics weren't always the best, but the gameplay was second to none.

Just wondering if anyone else here misses the way High Heat approached zone hitting?

To me it was the most realistic way to hit in a video game.

Very much so. It was just the most organic version of hitting.

Interplay Sports Baseball 2000 had a similar zone hitting system. ESPN Major League Baseball's True Aim hitting system wasn't terribly far off itself, but didn't have any of the hit variety mechanics HH had. Yes, I miss them dearly.

Just played MLB the Show for the first time in my life.

My first impression of that game is WOW.

I actually turned the cursor off and just approached hitting like i did in High Heat. Where i just aim for zones instead of aiming at the ball. Worked great! The hit variety was amazing.

Time will tell if i keep getting good results, but so far so good and a pleasure to play.

I turn off cursors and feedback for The Show as well. As you said, it gives me the best impression of zone hitting that way, even if it's not truly the same.

My own custom camera. You’ll see it in videos such as this one.

What was the base camera angle you used to create your custom camera angle?
