My first attempt at a custom cover

Here's my first ever custom cover, I know it has alot of problems, but I'm new with Adobe Photoshop and don't really know how to use it very well. So here is my first creation, I would really appreciate it, if someone could point me to the way of some tutorials or something similar. Thanks!

Re: My first attempt at a custom cover

Not too bad. Walker could be a little less stretched, but that's okay.

Honestly, I know nothing about Photoshop and its layers, merging tools, etc. It looks too hard. I once downloaded a 30-day trial version, looked at it, and I couldn't even find the flipping pencil tool or a fill-in tool.

Anyway, I have been working with Paint for the last three years. Last year I was okay. This year, I had downloaded a Blur Tool attachment, and I've learned to make awesome Photoshop-looking shots (look at my Beltran cover or my Fenway changes on ESPN MLB 2K5). I'm just going to stick with Paint, I don't want to mess up my skills going to Photoshop, no matter how much cooler it is. I'm proud of what I can do with Paint.

But, keep working on that cover right there. Again, I know nothing about layers, but it seems to me like you could cut out the Slugfest logo and put Walker in the background. That way you can get his legs in. However, I don't know **** about lassoing that part out with Photoshop and how easy/hard it is. You can do what you wish with your upgrades on the cover.

You'll get better though, don't worry.

That's a sweet looking Griffey cover. How did you get him the background with the red BTW? Is that just by adding layers?

This is another cover I made real quick, gave me a good laugh, even though I am a diehard junior fan. Still in my mind is worthy of another MVP year.....as long as he hits .280 52hr and 120rbi before he gets injured in may, lol.
