Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Gameplay Trailer
Doesn't the dynamic camera on the show do that?
EDIT: I found a video review for the Switch version here:

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Available Today
Anyone try out Franchise Mode yet? I might pick it up on Switch and Franchise Mode would be the main reason. Is it fun or just too shallow and janky in the gameplay department to enjoy?MLB: CHICAGO WHITE SOX
NFL: CHICAGO BEARS
NHL: CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
NCAAF: NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Available Today
So just wanted to give a couple of quick impressions after two games.
First off, as someone said, it's better than any RBI game so far. Like a pretty good step up.
The Good:
1) I like the pitching interface. Intuitive but not overly complicated.
2) I also like the hitting interface. Specifically the directional hitting, or whatever they call it. I wasn't hitting anything on the default setting. With directional you are able to make better contact I think as a user skill.
3) I love how the ball hooks and slices this year. Very realistic, but maybe a tad overdone.
4)Fielding has improved, but something about it needs fixed immediately. That will be in the negatives.
Overall, it's a good game. Plays a solid game of baseball. And if they support it all year with patches and roster updates, I think it can be a fun, albeit arcady alternative to The Show if you need a break from the realism standpoint.
The Negatives:
1) The fielding. While not the act of fielding itself, because that is pretty good, it's the animations, or lack thereof. In 2021 I feel like it's inexcusable to have so much lack of animations. Half the time the ball just doesn't even go into the glove, and it's a super fast cut to throwing and there literally is no catch animation. Also too many running throws. Players only seem to get set to throw about half the time if that. If this was cleaned up and we had more animations, specifically fielding, this game would jump up at least a whole point if I were scoring it.
2) Too many line drives. Small sample size, but seemed about half the balls hit are line drives. You do see some balls floated over the infield or shots down the lines, which look really good. I actually robbed a HR on the second hitter of the first game I played. It was sweet and actually looked good. So that's a positive hidden in the negatives. Sorry about that.
3) My first game went to extra innings, and I hit a walk off double to win in the 12th, but the problem was, Lucas Giolito started the game, and he pitched till the 12th. That's a big problem. Second game, the same thing happened with Buehler. It was only a 9 inning game, but he had given up 6 runs. So this needs to be patched it seems.
4) Apparently there is no replay system, unless I am missing it. Also no swing feedback or where the ball ended up after the pitch. Not huge deals, but something that should be in the game imo.
I have more that I can write, but I'll leave it there for now. The big question is, is it worth $30? I can say yes it is. It's fun, I didn't wanna stop playing. When you hit a bomb it's pretty awesome. I don't know if that can patch in animations. I guess it would come down to if they already have them. Which If they did they should be in the game, so I doubt it. To me, that's the biggest thing holding this game back from being really good. I just don't get it. I can't let them off the hook for it. But if you can look passed that, and it's kinda hard to do, but I feel like it's one of those things where you either decide to yourself that you can deal with it or not. And that might determine if people play it or not.Comment

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Available Today
I had high hopes for it, but this game still has more teleporting balls than an all-male away team on Star Trek. Fielding is abysmal - you can't tell if you should advance runners or not because the fielders don't actually catch the ball. Half the time they're six or seven feet away from where the ball is coming down and it's still ruled an out.Comment

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Available Today
Now...
Ive only played the ios version on a uphone...
BUT
the game is great
smooth almost prob 60fps and nice looking
three things bother me
1)Outfielder and infeilder throws sometimes they just chuck the ball in very akward angles it looks horrible
2) really wish there were overcast skies too
and
3) more cut scenes after plays so that it looks more like a broadcast
have yet to play it on the ps5
BUT from all the videos ive seen
it seems to play bad on the switch and reg xbox and play great on ios and xbox series xBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: R.B.I. Baseball 21 Available Today
I haven't been following the RBI series, but is it worth getting on Switch to help introduce my 5 year old son into baseball video gaming?
He's into baseball just like his old man, but looking for something that has simplistic controls that can help him play and enjoy the game.
Thank you in advance.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Agree 100%. SMB3 has an ego system that is great for those new to the game. Plus it has a fun factor that a kid would enjoy.
