Is the only way to create players in Star Player or Spirits mode or am I missing something?

That’s pretty much it…there’s really not a create a player option…you can do star player and eventually upload him or upload the guys in spirits mode that get drafted…if your on discord you can just download players that someone else has uploaded then you can change everything about them

Just had a player get a bouquet of flowers during a game after he got a hit. I can't say I'm very familiar with the NPB, anyone know what this means?

Wow, just got to say what a unbelievable game of baseball, after roughly 20 hours each and every game has been very different in outcomes, slugfests, close 1 or 2 run games, loving it. Do have a few questions though.

1. Anyone struggling to get walks? average pitchcount is about 10 or so per inning, im trying to take my time but pitchers just seem to pound the strike zone, is there a setting i'm missing?

2. Is there a way for outfielders to run faster like r1 / l1 on the basepads? Seems like my outfielders are running through mud.

3. If anyone has any more tips they'd like to share i'd love to hear them. Been loving the seasons mode so far, im intrigued by the high school mode, is it any good?

This typically happens anytime an NPB record is broken. The last time I remember seeing this in real life was during the 2022 season when Munetaka Murakami hit five HRs in a row.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this happens with team records sometimes as well.

1. I've been getting walks by upping the pitch speed. I use real speed and real movement and i get walks but thats because I'm getting fooled. Using real/real you really need to sit on an exact pitch location. I feel with slower pitch speeds (and this goes for MLB the show as well) you're able to move the batting cursor to the location so we tend to swing more and not work counts. When I'm sitting location and its not there i'm forced to take it and i've been working deeper counts.

2. I don't believe there is a way to get them to run faster.

Regarding walks CPU pitching difficulty setting will play into this. Here is a link to an older psy game and some tests Vern (the originator of pys translations) ran. Maybe they will help. I'm not sure how close they are to this game but they did hold true to the other versions so I'm guessing it still does. You may find other tips here as well.

In a season, can you control all teams or are you restricted to one? I know in past games you can only control one team but it's been awhile since they've made one, so I wasn't sure if this was a thing that changed or not.

I'll probably end up getting this eventually but the ability to do that would accelerate it for me.

So if I make an Indonesian account on Steam, do I need to run my VPN through Indonesia each time I play? Or can I just be on my US connection?


Also, does the game play better on PS5? Debating which route to go. Are English mods on Steam ever going to actually happen, or probably not?

This is all about the difficulty level, pitch speed, and pitcher skill. The higher the difficulty, you'll see pitchers pitch more to their abilities. Top end guys will pound the zone and nibble to get calls whereas others will be a little more erratic.

There's no "speed up" like for base runners, you can use SQUARE to make a dash catch that will allow you to sprint at the last minute to make a catch.

Just play the game and have fun! Find team(s)/player(s) you like and start learning about them outside the video game. I never knew anything about the NPB until I played PYS 6 years ago and after learning more about the league, I'm hooked.

You have to switch accounts to play it but you don't need a VPN. Once you purchase the game a VPN isn't necessary anymore.

Luckily switching between steam accounts is a breeze.

Another tip for players new to the series, setup your defense for each hitter. Depending on the hitter and base situation, you're offered different options. For example, a lot of teams play on turf and the fields are very fast. So if nobody's on and the runner is a B or below, move them way back. Don't do this in the rain though because ground balls die.

Having so much fun with PYS, it's shaping up to be my game of the year so far. The stadiums look fantastic, I want to travel to Japan and visit them all!

As far as future updates are concerned, seems like a roster update for the '25 season is a lock (if the previous version is any indication). However, I am hoping we also get some presentation updates somewhere down the line, it's the only area where I feel the game is lacking. Even a few alt uniforms would be nice, Home/Away doesn't really cut it in 2024.

I bought PYS '19 late in its life cycle after the updates were already released. Does anyone know if that game was updated significantly from its initial release, apart from the '20 rosters?
