I received my final 9000Yen and could buy the game without any problems.

I'm super excited [emoji1] Hopefully this runs good on the Steam Deck. Screenshot_20240714_150917_Steam.jpeg

      Re: Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2024

How to buy the game on steam:

      1. activate your vpn (I have used an app called VPN Japan. In my case the connection was set to Tokyo)

      2. Create a new account on steam and set country to Japan (no address needed)

      3. Buy Japan (yen)steam gift cards

      I bought mine at https://www.apartment507.com/product...48172138987810

From this shop you will receive a special code. This code has to be redeemed at https://steamprepaidcard.degica.com/

First enter the email of your Japan account
Set the amount of your gift card (in my case 3000yen)
      enter the code from apartment507

      4. your Japan account now should have the amount of yen you have redeemed

      5. Search for the game and put it in your cart. Hit purchase and select your steam wallet.

My 1st order took about 36 hours to get the code. On my 2nd order I got the codes after 3 hours.

I just wish the ball wasn't softball-sized when in play. The Show started whiting out their ball in gameplay and doing the same thing for the past decade, and they insisted on doing this in their Vita versions as well. If there is a way to turn this off, then awesome. I don't think Konami ever gave that option, but then again I can't read Japanese lol.

It's the only thing sticking out like a sore thumb in an otherwise fantastic looking game. Maybe this is something that a PC mod could address.

The ball is not really softball size. It looks that way because of the pitcher either left a ball hanging, not their best pitch, not right location for a certain pitch, or not completely healthy (blue/purple face). I think it adds a bit of realism because you have to know the pitching staff strengths and weaknesses. Actually one of the main reasons this has been my favorite sports franchise for over 20 years.

I was talking about the in-play ball. It is a "video game friendly" size. I'm watching ground balls be hit, and from the fielding camera it is apparent. I'm not talking about meatballs.

That's why I brought up SDS and The Show. They did it as an accessibility feature for their game, and it is a turnoff for me.

The "softball size" is hyperbole, but the fact is a Japanese baseball is even smaller (8 7/8") than an MLB baseball (9"), and to even give it a 10+" appearance isn't my preference.

If you're here to say I'm nitpicking, that's your prerogative. If you're here to say it's to accentuate missing spots or being in a funk, I'm not referring to that (unless that same ball then goes into play at that size). If you're here to inform me I am being inaccurate, I am not. The ball is purposefully oversized when in play.

We're okay. I'll survive. I'm just a fan of authenticity. Again, mods are possible to make such changes, I'm sure.

Did I hit a nerve? I was under the impression you were talking about the pitching, not in in play action. Btw, I never went to law school, so I don't judge. And, I don't work for Konami, nor getting paid by them in any form. That to say, nothing I wrote was meant to be disruptive. So, the game is not perfect, who cares. There are people that will enjoy it, and others that will not. To each their own.

Haha, no you didn't hit a nerve. I just wanted to call what I see.

And that's the thing: this game is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. But it is for a reason, and if something sticks out that doesn't jive with me then it really should be worth mentioning, as they didn't get where they did aesthetically without such efforts and attention to detail. I know it's in Konami's nature to use this as a gameplay feature, but so does SDS these days and I just wish it was something that could be disabled.
