It's not really skill... I think most is dependent on sliders.

There's a problem with this game where I can't tell what's a ball and what's a strike AT ALL, but on WSB 2K3 and ESPN MLB, I could see any pitch and its location. For me, that has a lot to do with it. When I hit pitches out of the zone, they go nowhere.

I had the same problem, what I did to rectify the problem was set my batting camera to Low zoom "100" this camera helps a lot for seeing the ball and the release of the pitch. Turn your batters eye on also your batter info, this will make life easier as you progress in your batting because the feed back is pretty good. Sometimes it is best to just watch a pitcher, pitch. From this you will learn his delivery, speed, and timing. Again the most important part is setting that camera so you can see the ball.

The only real skill that’s required anyway is patience – waiting for the right pitch. The times I’m selective are the times I usually make contact.

That can be fixed by lowering the AI Corner and AI Location sliders.

True... I tend to keep those high, so I can practice determining what is a good pitch and what isn't. I don't want TOO many fat pitches.

So what are you saying about the Location slider? You DON'T want it to be high?

Location slider down means more strikes around the middle of the plate. I'm just saying that keeping it low will definitely help a person distinguish strikes from balls. And the Corner slider down means balls are further outside the strike zone. I’d suggest lowering both right down, and then bumping them up in maybe 5 point increments until the person feels they’ve got the level of challenge they’re comfortable with.
