    Turn off "Ball Indicator"

I swear, turn this option off (with Pop Fly Lock still on), and it makes the game of flyballs so much more fun. Once you get the hang of it, it is more of a challenge both defensively and offensively.

Now, while baserunning, you have to decide whether from the power of the hit if the ball is going to fall or not, or if it's going to go over their head. Now, on defense, you have to decide whether you are going to try and make a diving catch or whatever, etc.

Try it... I'll tell you, I didn't ever really need to get the hang of it, it's really not that hard.

Along with this, I turn the wind onto "Breezy". Fun, fun, fun.

LOL no... that would be the "Windy" option. Breezy has about 8 MPH winds. While that's pretty strong, it's better than zero wind IMO. Makes for some interesting stuff.

I'm trying this and I do like it. I just can't seem to find the ball and make the catch, any help on this?

Well, as long as Pop Fly Lock is on, if you get to the spot it should be no problem. I can't really tell you exactly what to do since it really has to become a second-nature thing. One thing, though, is that if you play at least 400 games of this (I'm past that milestone already, sheesh) with the Ball Indicator on, you're so used to how the camera goes to recognize the depth of the ball.

Since I'm not playing at the moment, I can't definitely tell you what to do, how to track it, etc. All I can say is: listen to the crack of the bat, hear the commentary, and most important is probably checking out the camera and how zoomed in it is, etc. When there are fly balls down the line, the camera will normally zoom in earlier... now it's up to you to find the spot. If your player, running around and what-not, is somewhere beyond the middle of the camera, he's too far out.

It's strange, though. It's strange because I seem to know exactly when the balls are going to fall, so making diving and leaping catches in this game is very exhilirating (sp?).

I'd say that out of 100 balls that I would catch with the Indicator on, I catch about 94 with it off. It's a reasonable amount, and like I said... it makes every pop-fly something to actually work for.

I tried it, but can't tell where in the world the ball is going. I actually do the opposite: ball indicator on, lock off. It makes having to position the fielder for the catch an important and tricky part of the game.

For those that still play this game (or any baseball game, for that matter), I definitely recommend playing like this. No longer is defense so boring.

when using this technique, do you 'keep the fielder in view' option on or off?

                            Cool...Thx

What editing did you do with the fielders to cut down the superman like dives and ranges (would like to see an ocassional shot down either line)...i've fixed all the vacuum pitchers. I think once I've fixed the fielders (both in and out), and using the 'ball indicator off', i will be in heaven waiting for 2k6. Thx

Frankly, I don't know what I can do to get rid of those. I did lower the Jump/Dive categories for my team down to somewhere under 50 for everybody, so that hopefully that would help.

As for any slider adjustments to help, my Human Fielder Speed is set to 22 (no speed bursts), and my AI Fielder Speed is set to 25, with the AI Fielding Aggression set to 72.

                              Hope that helps.

Edit: Oh yeah, and my Pop Fly Lock is On.
