I am actually having fun with this game

I know that this game has some short comings that make it difficult to enjoy for the hardcore sim guys. I won't try to defend the game from that standpoint. There is no excuse for some of the issues.

But for a casual baseball fan, I think this game does some things very well. I really like the presentation. Miller and Morgan are great and the ESPN graphics are well implemented. I played and enjoyed MVP for much of the summer, but never was able to get into like others.....I think the presentation was part of it. I also get much more hit variety in 2K5 than I did with MVP.

I also really like the option to play shorter seasons (again something that caters to the non-sim fan). Since baseball is almost over, I am playing through a 10 game season....basically a tournament...it is a fun option.

One final thing that I like about the game is the international teams that are included. But ofcourse in classic 2k fasion, it is a great idea that they start well and then leave half-baked....Only 3 teams? And we can't use them in tournament mode??

Yeah, I put the game in the ole XBOX today and played a Pitts. v. SD game and had a good time with it. I'll be finishing up my HH2k4 PC season here pretty soon and am going to pick up the new installment (price is right), trade in a few games, plus this first version and give it a whirl for a winter league.

Yah I started playing this one in September after giving up on it a week after it came out. Once I got the right sliders I must say the game can be challenging enough to keep me coming back. My biggest gripe for every baseball game is getting pitchers to get somewhat realistic pitch counts. This one does a good job but Im sure the sliders and some patience help.

I still play this game on and off also. MVP was the game for me but this game had sooooooooo many nice things about it. I really wish it did a few things better, I would have been in baseball heaven.
This is why Im waiting for World Series Edition to drop, hopefully it fixed the bugs and still looks as pretty as I do every day I look in the mirror

Yeah, it is a fun game. Even with the poor animations, I would have played it over MVP. But the bugs...too many, too numerous. Will be worth owning in the offseason if they fix the bugs.

I still play it every day. Can't believe that people let up on games so easily.

I'm not. I don't know if I intend on getting 2K6. I actually want to finish a franchise (or, my GM Career). I'm only on my third year (again, playing every game), and I want to get to 30.

This may take 6 years! Who knows how long I'll actually play this game until A) I get sick of it, or B) I get another baseball game.

Re: I am actually having fun with this game

The ESPN Presentation really helps this game. I find MVP to be really "dry".

Miller and Morgan are excellent in the booth. With the right slider combination, it plays a good game of baseball.

This game is $12.99 used at Ebgames.com and even cheaper with a few codes. I'm debating whether to get this again or check out the world series edition. I need to know if anything is different besides the extra modes before a purchase.

I'm about to give this game another whirl right now. MVP has run it's course for me, it was fun as hell for 4 months but it's run its course.

Well, they're sure keeping this game under wraps. No previews. I've got this sneaking suspicion..................................roster update only with the WS thingy, ugh.
