Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition "Bugs/Glitches" Thread
Well, lol, just about every glitch that was in last editions game, but let's see here.
1. One that has nothing to do with gameplay, but the custom music. If you have custom music on your XBOX hardrive it defaults every home team player to the same song. Mine was "Hells Bells", which I used for Hoffman in the last version. When you go to the page to assign songs it is assigned to every player on every team, so it's a lot of work to get rid of it. However, you CAN just turn off custom soundtracks when in game, but it sort of kills the custom soundtrack thing. -

& sadly, the lineup bug may still be in the game.. editing the card's roster, it shows i have a bad lineup vs LHP (no DH).. flip to the screen, it shows the pitcher batting 8th with a blank space for the 9th hitter..Comment

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition "Bugs/Glitches" Thread
Hey, nobody that I know of checked to see if the "CPU always walks 8th batter with 2 outs" glitch is still in the game. Also, I wasn't clear if the "CPU doesn't bunt when using Classic or Meter pitching" glitch was fixed. Anyone?Comment

the stupid thing was, it was because i sent a SP to the minors, & then i tried making another player a starter when it froze...Comment

And compared to EA games, 2K games are an edit-freak's delight. Can’t edit player models in MVP for example, so one is stuck looking at those horrid toothpicks that pass for Derek Jeter, etc.Last edited by baa7; 10-21-2005, 12:10 PM.Comment

Some rules I follow:
1. If adding or removing a player to/from the team, make sure he’s a minor-leaguer (AAA or lower).
2. If removing a player from the team, make sure he’s not in the starting lineup, then demote him to AAA and promote an AAA player to take his place, and then release him.
3. If demoting a player on the team from MLB to AAA, make sure he’s not in the starting lineup, even as a DH.
4. If promoting a player on the team from AAA to MLB, first make sure he replaces a MLB player who isn’t in the starting lineup, and then place him in the starting lineup if desired.
The first rule can’t be followed all the time – signing an MLB player from the FA list, for example. In a case like that, I would assign the FA to my team, then immediately demote him to AAA, then release him (releasing can ‘clear’ some roster issues) and then resign him as an AAA player. I would also save the roster before doing this and then when done, check to make sure the lineup didn’t get messed up in the process.
The same general rules apply for pitchers: always move AAA players onto the team first, and then promote/demote etc. Never replace an MLB pitcher with someone who isn’t already on the team, in other words.
There’s one thing that’s different with pitchers, though. Starting pitchers can only be replaced by AAA (or lower) players. You can’t, for example, make your current MLB-level MR an SP by simply switching positions in the rotation. You first have to demote the MR to AAA and replace him with an AAA player. Now you’re okay to promote him and add him to your rotation as an SP. And of course the SP you’re replacing will be demoted to AAA.
You know in the rotation screen how you cycle through with the triggers and change a P’s assignment? Well, when you exit that screen, always make sure the first five pitchers on the list are assigned as SP’s (doesn’t matter which order; they will properly auto-order after closing). Likewise, the remaining pitchers on the list can be assigned any role except SP, and in any order (will auto-order as well). In other words, always see the rotation screen in two parts: the top five positions for SP’s only, and the rest of the list for relievers only. It’s just a weird thing in the programming – shouldn’t be that complicated, but it is unfortunately.
If you already have a lineup or rotation with issues, I can offer some possible fixes if needed.Last edited by baa7; 10-22-2005, 06:34 AM.Comment

I haven't purchased WSE yet because I am still waiting to hear if this problem has been cleared up, but if your suggestions help on the previous version then I really don't see enough reasons to get WSE at all. Thanks again.Comment
