I got a copy of MLB 2k5 World series edition today and the first thing I did was look at the team rosters because the rosters are supposed to be updated for the 2005 playoffs. I do not see how they consider these updated rosters. First of all Robby Hammock is on the braves roster in this game. He has never played for the Atlanta Braves but yet he is on their roster for some reason. The second thing I noticed is that out of all the rookies that played for the braves this season only Pete Orr and Jeff Francouer are in this game. WTF? The last thing I noticed is that there are still a ton of fake players on every team and I don't understand why unless some of them are actually real players but even if that is the case why don't some of them atleast have their real names? Especially the rookies since alot of them have played in several major league games this season therefore they are now part of the MLBPA and can be put in video games.

The gameplay is basically the same as Major League Baseball 2k5 as I haven't really noticed anything different. The animations are basically the same as MLB 2k5 also. As far as new changes go the pennant fever mode is pretty fun as im playing that mode right now. The world series mode or whatever it's called looks pretty good but I haven't checked it out in depth yet but I do know that there is about 20 great moments you can play from the 1962 world series to the 2004 ALCS between the yankees and red sox.Last edited by Kohlstar20; 10-19-2005, 07:00 PM.Comment

Yeah, there are quite a few fake players on every team. For example the Braves have between 8-10 fake players out of about 30 players on their roster which means this game doesn't even have all the players that were on their 25 man roster this season.Originally posted by jim416Comment

Well im not talking about their 25 man roster. Im referring to their entire roster which includes every player on their team. Im currently looking at the roster page and the braves have a total of 42 players and 15 of those players are fake which is ridiculous considering almost every player on the braves 40 man roster in real life played in the majors this season which to me means they should be in this game with their real name.Originally posted by jim416Comment

I don't see why they wouldn't be with the MLBPA yet. As long as a player has played in a major league game regardless of their age they are considered to be in the MLBPA unless they opt out like barry bonds but I find it hard to believe that almost every braves rookie did that.Originally posted by bryan_05Comment

No Jenks, no McCarthy, heck Rod Beck is in the AAA for the Padres.
Folks, off the top of my head I'd say if you are on the fence about this and don't want to waste money, wait until the next installment. I'm still fooling around with it, but have a feeling I'll take it to Gamestop tomorrow and sell it and go with Baa7s tweaked rosters for the last edition.

For example.
I still can't get my pitcher to throw any balls unless I intentionally throw one. There is nothing coded into the game that will allow for a little wildness. I tried moving the lever all the way to the left in the DIFFICULTY option and it did nothing (for pinpoint pitching). I hated to see 25 pitches thrown by me and no balls in the last game.
Baa7 says that can be fixed through editing the pitchers accuracy, etc. I'll try that with this game and see if it works.Comment
