MVP vs. MLB2K5 (WSE) vs. MLB2006

After playing all of the baseball games that were available this past year, I guess I could say that I like a little of something from each game. Each game does have faults, glitches, and problems also.

Which game has everyone enjoyed and thought was the overall perfect package?

MLB2006 would have won here for me, but the bugs and glitches really killed that game for me. 989 took the best of MVP, MLB2K, and HH rolled into one package, but was marred by issues.

MVP is too frustrating (playing on PRO alone makes the game a pain even after sliders), but the animations and graphics are slick. Rookie is way too easy and PRO is way too hard, even with sliders I still can't find that balance in between both difficulty levels.

MLB2K5 WSE seems to have a decent balance at default levels. I was winning game while I was still losing games. Unlike MVP where it is hard to win games no matter what I do. Getting K's on MVP is hard as opposed to MLB2K5. One thing that MVP has is the animations and the overall look.

Kush, whatever you have to do next year please copy some of the look from MVP, it will help your game out + add more animations.

Re: MVP vs. MLB2K5 (WSE) vs. MLB2006

I played MVP most of the summer, and I enjoyed it. But there were a few things that evenually ate away at my interest.

    1. Hit Variety. Everything was a liner up the middle unless I preloaded the stick. I could never do anything like react to an outside pitch and slap it the other way. Perhaps it was my skill, but I wasn't playing on a high difficulty either.

    2. Presentation. Announcing is repetitive in all games, but I thought it was pretty bad in this one. As the third year of this franchise, this should have been better.

    3. 162 Games. I don't want to offend any purists here, but I just don't have time to make it through 162 games. I would prefer to sacrifice stat totals for the ability to play all my teams games.....It would be nice to at least have the option.

I picked up 2K5 towards the end of the season and really enjoyed it for a number of reasons.

    1. I didn't have the same issues I did with MVP; Hit variety was good, Miller and Morgan were great along with the fantastic ESPN presentation and I had the option for multiple season lengths. I also much prefer the bright 2K colors rather than the bland EA colors.

    2. $19.99.

    3. Going in, I knew the game had some issues. So I played it like I played NES and Genesis games back in the day....just to have fun. I wasn't concerned with pitch counts or presice RISP%. I just wanted realistic scores, and that is what I got.

To be fair, I only played 2K towards the end of the summer and really didn't play enough to get sick of the the glitches. But I did enjoy the game while I played it.

Yeah I just picked up WSE a week ago. Man its full of bugs. But for some reason I still like it. I'm just trying to have fun and again not be too concerned with the perfect stats etc. It is just a computer anyways. Heck I still never got MVP to have perfect stats either.

I just wish that WSE was more polished in their animations, and some decision making.
