MLB 2K5 game play/AI logic that needs just a little bit of refinement:
My batter hits a single; as he runs through the bag along the baseline, I squeeze the left trigger to bluff going to second, then quickly squeeze the right trigger as the second baseman and relay guy fires the ball to first. The first baseman snags the ball and goes into his tag-out animation/freeze where his glove w/ball is held on the bag along the first/second basepath, where the runner would normally be sliding back to the bag.
Only problem is, my guy is ten feet up the right baseline because he overran the bag. So while the first baseman is leaning over waiting to apply the tag to some imaginary base runner coming back from the direction of second base, my guy comes diving in from the right field baseline, slides by and under the first baseman’s legs and butt, and touches the bag: Safe! ...even though the first baseman had been squatting there with the ball for a good 1-2 seconds before my guy actually got back to first
