What’s up with the montage? You create that, or are you saying 2K’s releasing these pics? And that pic of Jeter’s a bit scary, actually. Reminds me of a couple of articles I’ve read here and elsewhere about the ‘Uncanny Valley’.

I actually think it looks bad (if it were meant as a next gen pic, which it doesn't seem it is).

2K's graphics aren't the problem. I thought last years game looked great. It just played terrible. Personally I can't play a game that's "all show and no go".

I am but I am not, so to speak. I am excited to see what the game will look like, and to see if 2k baseball can clean up last year's disaster. I'll buy it, no questions asked.

I am not excited because I think MVP Baseball 2005 is the best videogame, ever (keep in mind I play sports games only). I am doubtful that 2k360 is going to surpass EA's superb gameplay -- I fear that they'll be focusing on graphics, and gameplay will suffer.

I'm one of the ones who thought 2k was better at the NFL games, and EA (as of this year) better at the MLB games. I lose on both accounts.
Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game.

It looked great except for Craig Counsell’s face and Randy Johnson’s hair. I prefer the non-photo-realistic look myself. What I didn’t get is why the game looked so fuzzy compared to 2K3, which visually looks way cleaner and sharper somehow. Plus if you use the older stadiums, the signage on the outfield fences is all terribly pixilated.

Haha! Yeah, I created it myself. Boy do I wish that the game had that kind of detail. The one problem? Of course... the one that you stated. The emotion. However, he's not yet throwing... I bet you that if you took a picture of him turning a double play, he could have a freeze frame looking like that right there. However, when he starts throwing, then the grunting comes in.

The other problem I have with my own creation is the color scheme.

At any rate... this sort of took me a while to make, so don't just trash the beauty that I tried to replicate to that of the other games like NBA 2K6... yet with a little more emphasis on Kush's style, like how they did on NHL 2K6.

Wow. I don't have the game anymore for Xbox, but I guess my opinion of the graphics has been clouded over time. That bottom pic looks pretty bad.

I guess I should revise my statement and say that they need to fix the bugs, gameplay issues AND graphics! Hell with it. Start from scratch!

Haha. Well, truth be told, those are the Xbox graphics. However, with the screen capture and video card that IGN has, many more jaggies are displayed. Nevertheless, that is what the game looks like for Xbox.

Compare it to my depiction of the Xbox 360 game (with biggest hopes of what it could look like), and you got yourself a fine looking next-gen game.

As someone higher up said I'm also looking forward to next gen baseball, but not from 2K games, I hope that Microsoft makes use of the high heat engine or something. I like 2K sports I really do, but every game they've ever released has been terribly bug ridden.

Usually, I like 2K games, but I hate the baseball one. terrible IMO. I love MVP though. AN EA where you can really see that the effort was put in to make it the best baseball game out there.

The problem is in the developer that 2K Sports hired. I guarantee you that if VC was on this game, they would look towards the "warm, fun environment" that Kush is aimed after.

If you go to Kush's developer website, they even say themselves that "Kush means 'happy'", and that's exactly what they direct their game toward. They then have things that aren't exactly baseball-oriented, but gamer-oriented. Slamzone, In Your Face, etc.

They need a new developer... then I will look positively to their games.

Yes, they need a new developer that will be dedicated to the sport of baseball and looking to make a game that will try to make people "happy".

well, i'm not particularly looking foward to 2K's effort based on last year's effort.

If I am not mistaken, Microsoft sold all the rights to their sports games to 2K. I think that included the rights to High Heat as well. I am not 100% sure about this, but I think this is the case.
