The cursor has been in the series for like almost a decade, don't see why they took it out. I understand this is 2k games and not sega anymore but one of the huge reasons I did not like high heat and mvp was no cursor. The cursor was fine for years, I just don't understand why the change. Why kush why?

It's all part of their new corporate gaming vision: don't make games people will buy (football) and remove any features from current games that gamers find useful and enjoyable -- like stationary cursors, working lineups and infielders who actually come in on bunts and slow rollers

I would love to see High Heat come back. IMO the best baseball series by far.

Remember... if you want to do JUST Season mode, you can control any team that you desire. In GM Career mode and Franchise mode, you can control up to 4 teams.

Actually, I may check again about Franchise mode... see if you can control all 30 teams.
Blzer man, just face it, 2k baseball sucks, the play was awful and I traded the game in with the quickest. I have play a 2k game so bad since WSB on Dreamcast. This game was too flawed and not any fun, I like the presentation alot and I wish NBA 2k would do there's are NFL and MLB does.

My post had nothing to do with how much I value MLB 2K5... which, by the way... I'm playing right now. I'm guaranteed at least 500+ games played already (3 full seasons, plus 32 games in my 4th season, plus playoffs in 2nd and 3rd year). So, that just shows that 2K baseball sucks in your mind and not in mine. Remember that it's not a fact, but just your opinion. I can seem to have fun with it for 500+ games.

Correct about perspectives. I'm nearing 300 games myself, and still playing it almost every day. However, the game definitely sucked out of the box. No question it’s the most broken, glitch-filled sports game ever released, and the only way to get it to play properly is massive editing – which still doesn’t fix many of the bugs which for most gamers would be game-killers. So there are two sides to MLB 2K5 for sure – the extremely sucky, and the very decent and entertaining.

Re: Is this the only baseball game possible for 360?

Oh boy, you should have seen how pissed I was with passed balls. I am so happy that bigfnjoe found the "cure" to it. I do not believe I would be playing 500+ games if that was the case.

I suppose you're right on this game being the most glitch-filled. I'm finally seeing annoying lineup problems for the first time. Every time that I go to my schedule, it asks me for the CPU to automatically fix my lineup and bullpen first. Now I have to rearrange my lineup every game when RHP are pitching (which takes no more than 15 seconds), and I have to take guys like Curtis Leskanic, Jason Barry, and Kevin Jarvis out of my starting rotation to put in Mark Hendrickson, Felix Diaz, and Norman Solis (if you haven't found Norman Solis yet... GET HIM!).

But I'll tell you one thing: I've never felt so happy and non-bored in a baseball game if I'm clobbering a team. In any other game, I start to feel a sense of unrealism... but in this game, I understand that it actually happens. Because, the next day, I get 1 run on 5 hits. I certainly love the score variation on this game.

The lineup problems are usually caused by one player. Here’s a suggestion: create a new save file of that roster/franchise to use for testing purposes only. Start with one of the players the CPU is ditching when it reorders. Remove him from the lineup and replace him with a Minor League guy, then stick him in the FA pool. Then play a game – a one-inning game (just lose on purpose: intentionally walk 4 batters in a row or whatever), or maybe you can even get away with Game Cast. Advance to the next game in your schedule and see if the CPU still asks to reorder your lineup. If so, reload the save and start the process over, and select a different P to remove from the lineup. It’s a process of elimination, and at some point you should be able to discover which player is causing the problem.

I know exactly what you're talking about there But you have to realize part of that is the Confidence feature, which I continue to laud as one of the most innovative features in any sports game ever… if they’d just program it properly.

So what happens with this "player"? Is he some anomaly that I must get rid of, or what?

In the instances I've come across this problem and discovered who it was that was causing the lineup issue, it was simply a matter of setting and saving the 25-man lineup without the player present (with the player in the FA pool). After that, it should be okay to re-sign the guy and even promote him back into the starting lineup.

Meh, I just went on ahead and let the CPU auto-adjust my roster, then I went on and put it back from whence it originated. It took a while... I had to redo my depth charts also.
