anyone play "pennant fever"mode?

i think that has to be one of the best modes of play i have seen in a baseball game. its such a novel approach and a reason to buy the game....again.

i think that its awesome to be able to play the last 6 weeks of the season as it was really set. be the astros and fight for the wildcard in the NL (or another one of the WC contenders). bringing a lifeless organization back from the brink of playoff elimination. just too good.

my only gripe is that i would have liked to see the real stats for the players based on what day that the PF mode started on. like the astros (i know because i started with them) have 6 weeks left in the season. i dont think it would have been too hard to put the numbers in for the players that they had from that point. i think that could have only added to the realism for the mode.

what do u guys think about the pennant fever? what improvements would u like to see made on it if they do another 'world series edition' release?

Glad you’re enjoying it. But to me, that sounds pretty static and lifeless. One could set up a short season, take control of all teams, and then pick and choose which teams they want to help make a run for the division, etc. Part of it for me I suppose is I could give a rat’s butt about real rosters and actual MLB standings. I prefer playing with fantasy rosters, etc. And I don’t care for the same 8 teams making the playoffs each year, so I try and make sure all teams have a chance of reaching the playoffs. And another thing: IMO, MLB isn’t playable with unedited rosters anyway. I don’t see how anyone can even play the game as it’s programmed out of the box.
