Re: Gamespot hands on
At this point, the major drawing point of the game seems like the Inside Edge technology. It sounds really great.
However, I don't know... I'll probably give it a rent.Rose City 'Til I Die

Meh, I'm actually sort of disappointed that we kept Miller and Morgan. That's weird to say, also... because I love the duo. I guess I was just hoping for the best with Dan Stevens and Peter O' Keefe.
Like the other poster said... nothing that we haven't seen. This preview, however, said that with the Swing Stick, when you release it, it will be a line drive (as opposed to a ground ball). I guess that's how those lower hits are all created. I wonder if home runs are possible that way?
At this point, it sounds like the authors of these previews are plenty optomistic, which is a good thing. However, they haven't played it yet first-hand, so we'll just have to wait and see. Re: Gamespot hands on
I was right about John and Joe...Glad to see them back -- best ever in a sports game. Payoff Pitching sounds like it could be a great way to accidentilly throw balls -- if it's programmed properly of course. If not, maybe there's some sort of accuracy or payoff rating one can lower so that when you miss your aiming spot, it really does miss by a lot.

I'm just sort of tapping my fingers here, not sure what to think. New stuff, new stuff, new stuff.....hmmmm. I dunno.
Something to maybe consider is they couldn't possibly screw up the programming so badly again... could they? And of course they fixed all these mis-programmed glitches from last year's game, before adding all the new stuff... didn't they?Last edited by baa7; 01-12-2006, 04:44 AM.Comment

What have we gotten historically with new stuff like I've seen mentioned?
Bugs. We serious gamers have been pleading with these developers to fix the baseball portion of the games FIRST. Baa7, bet you a turkey dinner (well, dinner of your choice) that we will have a long "glitch list" again to include this new stuff and stuff they never fixed.
I will remain pessimistic with this as there will be more than enough gamers who will "ooh and ahh" at this stuff. I hope they're right, but they're going to have to show me.Comment

I'm glad to see Jon Miller and Joe Morgan back, they work good together! I get a kick out of Joe's laugh when they talk about his Home-Runs to center,
Or "how does it feel when you get a fat pitch like that" Joe's reply is " Happy Birthday To Me" Good Stuff!
Likewise I hope they fix some of the misquotes like giving the throwing credit to the guy who catches it.
I know this is off subject but a couple of times when I was playing 2K5 World Series, My guy hits a Home-Run and and instead of rounding 3rd, he runs straight toward the stands.
All in all it looks like it's shaping up to be a good game this year, we will have to wait and see!"a mean motor scooter and a bad go getter"

Hopefully they actually have improved the AI logic as stated in one interview. Between the 3B guy who never charges rollers, and 1B guys who throw to third trying for the lead runner instead of simply stepping on the first base bag three feet away, there really wasn't any part of the game that one could say actually worked, or was programmed properly, or was free of bugs and glitches.Comment
