9 times out of 10, what they're signalling is either defensive alignment, pickoff signs/pitchout signs (which have to occur every pitch as to not tip off the other team) and other things.
Joe is right i played some pro ball(pitched)at the MLB level this is pretty much how he said it goes. But at the lower levels college and rookie ball you may have the manager call the pitchies. You may at times get a sign from the pitching coach for location of a pitch at the MLB level

Some ppl barely spend much time scouting players at all in sports games. They just go to the next game and play it.

THANK YOU! Some people (like me) don't want to memorize alot of stuff in video games. I play video games to relax my brain and just enjoy them. I probably could memorize them but I just wont have the motivation while playing the game and the feature would be useless to me. But some people obviously don't mind so it probably wouldn't hurt to have 2 options for the players to chose from. I rather have the "lazy" way of knowing this info.

And payoff pitching sounds very interesting. I'm all for having features that put more control into the human players hands.

That'd be my issue as well. Between the stress and long hours of work and studying different technology most nights (damn IT world and it's ever changing technology and certifications), my brain is taxed by the time I sit down to play a video game. Then I usually don't have more than an hour at night to game if I want to get more than 6 hours of sleep - which seems to be the norm. Those long scouting reports for each game could take 30 minutes to study. Although the idea is really cool. Just probably not something I'd wind up using. Maybe when I retire in 20 years!

I agree it's maybe too extreme. But given you couldn't even check a CPU batter's vs L&R batting ratings in-game last year, having all those Inside Edge stats available this year seems like an odd leap in the opposite direction.

My real concern is that it should be a default option to have all Inside Edge stats available for all players. I understand the “fun” factor of purchasing reports if you're playing a franchise, but I only play single seasons, and those reports should as I said be a default option and available to me at any time.
