With swing stick you cant hit for a grounder...

I have read a lot of threads and seen the new vids and I now am conviced that this hitting is flawed since a groundball swing is not an option. MLB players all the time are swinging over pitches to make contact to get a runner over. With swing stick it creates liners and grounders together and those are or should I say should be different seperate swings.

I think you sort of misinterpreted what the swing stick is supposed to be like. It's not like: Thrust forward for fly balls, and release for liners/grounders. It's supposed to be like last year's two-button swinging. So, it's like: Thrust forward for power, and release for contact. It does not have anything to do with flies and grounders, although one may be emphasized on one a bit more.

It sounds to me from that new video that the swing stick and classic batting can be used together. So you can be using the swing stick, then if you decide you want to hit a ground ball, then you can just use the A button to do that.

Kind of like how the classic batting no longer has a power swing, therefore If your using classic batting and want to use a power swing, then you can switch over to the swing stick to do a power swing.

I will hold judgement until I play the game, but if 2K's swing stick is anything like EA's in MVP NCAA... then it will not be a problem. I hit ground balls all the time with their analog swing. Matter of fact, I get a great variety of hits. I can go the opposite way when I want to, pull the ball, etc... It has become second nature when I'm at the plate.

For those that don't like/can't grasp the analog swinging, they have left classic hitting in there for you.

It's sounds quite similar to EA except that EA had it where you always hit up and you hold L for contact, R for power. I think it will be fine.
