    Interview #2 Questions...

Now that more info, screenshots and movie clips have been shown, I've managed to get us another interview w/ the MLB 2K6 team. Submit your questions here.

Please be specific or you run the risk of your question not being answered. I can't take any 360 questions yet, but when I can, we'll setup another interview.

    Fire away.

    Re: Interview #2 Questions...

    1. Over a career will we see accomplishments noted on the stats interface, when a player comes up to bat? For example, A Rod has won the MVP X number of times, or a player (insert name) led the league in HR's in year XXXX. Does this get updated after the first year of play in career mode. So for example in year 10 in franchise/career mode, the updated stats and comparisons are noted in the interface to reflect that time period.

    2. Does the user now have more options to customize the camera for hitting and pitching, as well as fielding? Any tweaks to this part of the game? From the videos it seems only minor tweaks were made to this part of the game.

    3. Player celebrations. Has this been improved in this year's game. Will we see players/teammates celebrating a HR, or a big play during a game?

      4. Have the diving catches been toned down? I'm aware of the implementation of player momentum which is great and may impact whether or not they get into position correctly, but there are not that many "web gems" in real games and they were pretty frequent in 2k5. Building off of that, will the fielder every drop or fail to make the diving catch. They seemed somewhat automatic at times.

      5. Will Home Runs be as easy to rob as they were last year, in particular when consider online play when sliders aren't an option most of the time. Hopefully the added player momentum will factor into this as well.

i like your (KUSH) idea of having catchers call games

could be risky though in terms of gameplay

????.......IF you shake off a catchers call & throw another pitch does the % of a passed ball go up exponentially? versus throwing a different pitch WITHOUT the catcher knowing (ie not shaking him off..just throwing another pitch)
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

Can we wear alternate uniforms with grey pants instead of just the white ones? Because in real life the away team wears grey pants and the home team wears white pants no matter what.

Last year, when using the Behind The Pitcher (BTP) cam, if a runner on 1st attempted to steal 2nd, the camera would not adjust to show the play at the 2nd base bag. the camera would remain fixated on the catcher after he'd thrown down to second, giving us no idea if the play at 2nd was close or not. Has this been addressed?

Also, while watching CPU vs. CPU games, the camera angle changed every pitch, and when the ball was hit past the infield, the crowd would go mute until the ball was thrown back into the infield. Has this been addressed?

                1. The thirdbaseman did not charge on bunts and was not very responsive on slow rollers. Has this been fixed?

                2. The base running sheme was very difficult to get used to and confusing. Has VC gone back to a more standard base running scheme?

                3. Although it appears that some more animations have been added in the released videos, the players still look quite stiff. Can we expect more fluid animations in the final product.

                  1. Will there be on the field first and third base coaches this year?

                  2. Are new/renovated stadiums reflected in the game? Will the Cardinals be at their new stadium? Will Wrigley have the added bleacher seats?

                  3. Will franchise mode include any sort of minor leagues or farm system, even if just simulated?

                    1. Have you included separate sliders for infielder speed and outfielder speed? Last year the infielders gobbled everything up. So, to change this the fielder speed had to be lowered, and this, in effect, made the outfielders much too slow.

                    2. Has the awful torso-twisting backswing been removed from the game? It's still in the latest batch of videos, so I'm guessing it hasn't. If it hasn't been taken out, could you please explain why? I have never seen anyone swing in such a manner. So, please don't give me some rediculous explanation that it's something that happens in real life (if I'm not mistaken, the animation went into effect every time a hitter made contact with the ball), because it isn't.

!) In 2K6 will they announce the number of each home run threw out the season?

                      2) With 2K5 WSE you offered legends right away so we could start our season with them, Will you do the same with 2K6?

                      3) Any new Legends this year? Maybe: Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Duke Snider, or Ted Williams?

                      Thank You...

Will players inside Edge's Effect Franchise mode , as in a players swings at bad pitches?

Will Rookies have random Inside Edge's or none at all?

Will rookies be editable before draft or will all players be editable during franchise?

                          1) After reading a recent preview of franchise/gm mode I noticed a very lopsided deal. J. Damon and B. Williams for M. Cabrera and prospects and this type of trading makes me think the trade AI is either really bad or is still being worked on. Are you still working on the trade AI or has it been altered since this version of the game was given to websites?

                          2) Will the trade AI take into account age, potential and salaries? Will certain teams try and make deals fitting their situation (i.e a bad team out of the pennant hunt trading for prospects)?

Is there any way to try and push a ground ball to one side of the field using the new swin stick or are you stuck trying to use contact and hope it ends up a grounder.

Simple question needed to be answered:

For 3 straight iterations in a row, the Double-Switch feature was nearly acceptable, except for one flaw... your pinch hitter was not able to stay in the ballgame. Did you guys work out the kinks this year, and finally address the Double-Switch issue?

There are no work-arounds to answering this question, and there are no excuses. No "We were going to, but...". Either Yes or No, please.
