    BLF Is Up Now

    http://www.2ksports.com/games/mlb2k6/

The first fielding video had some great animations imo, checking out the Q&A now.

You'll be happy to know that the "Super Fielders" are a thing of the past. In fact, we have it so that certain diving stop animations are exclusive to a certain caliber of player (your Derek Jeter's for example). I can say with all confidence you won't have to worry about the pitcher snagging every comebacker anymore. All those issues have been addressed.
    ^^^nice, very good news.

    I also noticed
As far as variable strike zones go, I can tell you that for pitches on the edge of the zone, sometimes the ump will call a strike, and sometimes he'll call a ball. We have little freedom to make "variable umps" due to our contract with Major League Baseball. We do, however, have strike zones that vary a bit on a day-by-day basis. Some days you'll see a high strike zone and some days a much lower strike zone.
And I thought this was just a funny responce
As far as the pitchers seeming very "life-less," I could sit here and lie to you guys that "yes, we've mo-capped 300 new pitching anims this year!!!" but that would make us sound just like EA and we're not that kind of company. We put the majority of our animation focus this year on fielding and our catcher with the intent that 2K7 will be the year we revamp all of the pitching animations. I can tell you, however, that pitcher's have new "walkback" animations this year meaning that after they receive the ball back from the pitcher, the animation of them getting back onto the rubber is new.

I was dissapointed..lol i wanted to see the guy smack the wall at the end ( when he cought the ball by the wall.

I think the game looks like a ton of fun..collisions will make this game very realistic..it was also nice to see a poor throw to second which got the guy safe..

    I like what i see.

I must say that out of all the screens/videos I have seen, this one has looked the best. The players do seem kinda stiff though but not a big deal. I hope the gameplay is really good and there arent too many bugs/glitches. (I never have confidence in any sports games beta testers)

Is that Dan and Peter in video 2?

Good to see the comebackers to the pitcher fixed. This annoyed me in past version of MLB 2K.

I like the variable umpire calls.

As for the fielding animations, I still don't like the throwing animations in this game. (Especially the running and throwing animation.) They look stiff and robotic, and not human like. Especially the throwing animation on the double play at second base, when the player jumps in the air and throws to first. The windup animation isn't done correctly imo.

I have a question, they make a big deal with these collisions..

Can you collide with a baserunner then? Im assuming yes but 2k hasnt said so..and theres no evidence that says so also.

How cool would that be..a guy trying to catch a fly ball and the runner runs into you..

I've also wondered about collision with a baserunner.

Now if a fielder went to catch a popup and the runner ran into him, it's runners interference and the runner is out. It would be cool if they programmed that into the game.

That would be very cool..it would be rare which would be nice. It wont happen often because the runners have a set course..and you have to have a fly ball right in that path..then you have to have timing right.

Very rare but it would be awesome

Nothing special, basically the same looking graphics and stiffness in the animations, but I have no problem with them if the gameplay is fixed.

C'mon Jimmy... there was all sorts of new stuff. I had no idea you could vary your throw to first, to increase the chance for a pickoff. That's very cool. Also, the first person mode with the C looked good, and the ability to aim your pickoff throws to second was news to me. Some pretty innovative features, you have to admit

Sorry, I thought they looked stiff. Did I see some better animations. Yes, but overall stiff as a board. Look at what I said about the videos Blzer found, glowing about the catcher animations (something I think they must have worked on idependent of other fielders, for example the pitchers). They did a great job with the catchers, but look at how the pitchers look. Same as last year. Stiff.
