    Player Editor?

I'm very unfamilar with the 2K series and I tried using the search forums thing and I can't find anywhere whether or not you can edit all existing players? Especially after seeing the lists come out for the top hitters and pitchers..I would certainly be doing some editing.

All names, attributes, ratings are editable. You can take fake players from the FA list and rename then, and John will say their name in game... great stuff like that.

Unlike EA Sports games, where you can only edit certain attributes but not others (MVP) or none at all (Madden 360, and as I just found out, Fifa 360). Plus I've been playing Fifa 06 for the Xbox, and a couple hours into editing players, a box pops up and tells me I can't edit any more, and my only option is to reset to default rosters. Nice...

As I mentioned already: I'm still playing WE8. WE9's improved game play doesn't come into play with me, because I always play in fixed mode using the player cam. I played that way as a midfielder for months. And just last month I started a league playing exclusively as the goalkeeper. Honestly, it rivals 2K5 as the most fun I've had playing a sports game (with the exception of those all-night, all-weekend computer golf tourneys I played with my buddies back in the early 90's... where there's not a clean cup, plate, knife or fork in the house by Sunday because you've been too busy playing to do dishes).

I didn't play 2K5, but I heard that player appearances couldn't be editted, at least for classic teams, if I remember. Is this going to be the case this year? I was leaning towards 2K5 partially because of the classic teams, but when I heard this I went with MVP. I just couldn't play as the '89 A's with a skinny, black Mark McGwire and a white Rickey Henderson.

What I did is use the fake FA's -- there are dozens if not hundreds of them -- and created my own classic players. You can pick and choose their looks from the many FA's available. You can also change their names -- John will even say a couple dozen of their names in-game -- and edit any and all attributes. Then I imported them onto the '56 Dodgers and/or any of the regular MLB teams, and saved that roster as my Classic Players roster. It's then possible to use them in season and franchise modes

Actually, u can edit pretty much everything in MVP. And also u can edit anything for fake players/created players. And one of the best things about MVP is that u can edit players DURING a season in franchise mode.
