I'm in the same boat as you, solja. There are so many things with this game that I can point out and nitpick. At the same time, there are so many things that are either glorious, or I see the potential right there in front of my face. All in all, specifics didn't matter... I had fun with the game, and I continued playing it. Now, I've completed [what seems to be at least] 650 total games in franchise!

For some advice: Did you pick up MLB 2K5, or MLB 2K5: World Series Edition? If you picked up the WSE, then this will not matter to you... but there are some West Coast teams that will not have a night game during the whole season (maybe one or two), because there was some weird bug that caused those 10:05 games to be daytime, rather than nighttime. If you were given any 7:05 games, though, then they would be at night. I believe this was addressed for the World Series Edition.

Also, whatever team you choose, try and get an Owner that is not focused on making money, because goals will be all about what you probably wouldn't want (investing and cutting players). I like to go for the Improving Team kind of Owner, because they always have some interesting goals with if you want a power hitting team, a pitcher-heavy team, etc.

Im with yah on #4. You would think guys that are making baseball games (or sports games) would have a interest in sports and maybe do a little research so when they have their game in Beta they can compare and say, "well that doesnt look right".

You will be adding another point to your post. #5 - whats with the passed ball bug? and why doesnt anyone fatigue?

In my opinion, I like both games but I think MVP05 (I have only played pc version) plays a better game and looks better as far as animations. Besides with all the mods the replayablity for MVP05 pc is huge.

SOOOOO!!..i read the manual..watch the training video's and put the difficulty on pro...& went in...sh_t boy i was fustrated with the hitting!...the graphics was allright( but i was wondering if the same guys who did nfl2k5 did this cause i saw no ambition in it..the cutscenes where boring and the color was dull..and many bland colors like tan & evergreen and brown makin me thing damn baseball is not a very colorfull sport huh!)..so on & on

SOMETHING HIT ME!!!--i REALIZED..i love pitching..k-zone is killer!!,the hot n cold zone all that is lovely!!! i wonder if other baseball games pitching was this sweet!!!!!!!!! THIS IS ONE SWEET PITCHING ENGINE!!! batting i was mad about! still...so i watched the vid couple times and played with some options..i realized cursor batting is not for me!!!i'll save that for casual or peple who like shooting games like james bond and other bull like that..

i played a few games and the last before bed i actualy won.....

1.this game is so0000000.. stingy with the animations!!!!--i think kush needs to be fired the hell of 2ksports!!!!-and let vc do a band up job like nba 2k6 or nfl2k5.

2.the fielding needs damn work to me!!..it's just to simple running to a yellow circle on the field..i'm used t0 nfl when the ball is thrown u can see the whole field & the ball..baseball game -it seems cpu tell u where the ball is going!! doesn't bother zoom out n let u field..like nfl where u can run n catch the ball!!..all u have to do is run to the yellow part..kinda eazy but it leaves you off that( i'm on the field,i'm fielding type feeling!!).

3.do player individual stats really matter that much?--it seems players have the same capabilities & just some are a little better.

World Series Edition fixes many problems that were in the original MLB2K5 version. One thing that I can hand to 2K/KUSH, is that I liked their World Series presentation after you win. Best yet in baseball that I have seen.

Strange review, but I agree with alot of it. I'm honestly going to buy MLB '06 The Show then I'm going to see what people say about the 360 version of this game, because right now if I didn't have a 360 I don't know if I would be considering this game. I'm really hoping the 360 version offers more than just graphics, it might not be a very good chance, but I think they might have spent alot of their time on it. Maybe thats just hopeful thinking, I don't know, nobody really knows yet.

I'm hoping the same thing, that they do surprise us. I will continue to play MVP and MLB2K5:WSE until the 360 info arrives.

I bought this game after I resurrected a PS2 a month ago, and I have to say, it is ugly. They use the same throwing motions they used 6 years ago, and the ball physics are like wiffle ball. I pray they make a much better effort for the 360, and totally re-do the game engine, b/c this engine has more than run its course. Hell, the Genesis WSB engine was better

The only things that were fixed were the passed ball bug -- which people had a workaround for 2K5 anyway -- plus they added the ability to remove the strikezone. That's it. None of the many other bugs and glitches were addressed or fixed; no new animations; no game play tweaks; nothing.

Only a few things were fixed that I remember. There was still much that went without being taken care of.

if u like this game, then keep on playing it, but if u dont then i recommend u get MVP 05. Its a much easier game for hitting (with adjusted sliders) if u find that hitting is too hard in 2k5. Also, and this is for both games, u should try tweaking sliders and experiment with what works for u.

Yeah, I am trying to get into baseball this year. To winden my knowledge of sports. But I love baseball games. I reccomend you pick up MVP 05 or wait for 2K6.

Shouldn't hitting BE hard? I'm batting .239 after 300+ games, with a HR every 69 AB's. If I get a hit in an inning, I feel I'm having a great game. I mean, look at a typical MLB box score: you'll see team after team with 4, 5, 6 hits an entire game. And if you do like hitting, 2K baseball can be adjusted via sliders to the point where you can talk on the phone, drink a root beer, browse the internet AND swing and make contact, all at the same time -- no problem.

after couple days i like the game

but most times i play everything feels repetative because of the little bit of animations..and the same cutscene over n over (like the pitcher walking off and fixing his hat,,or after an innning the same behind the crowd shot)..

this game is fun!!! i feel kush should have tried to match the quality of nfl2k5..the realism isn't all there neither!!.....

2.those swing animations..i tell u!!..looks like the player just swung his soul away!!..like the bat weighted 200 pound..but he hardly wound up for the swing..that's some funny shhhhtt!!.there is only one running animation,,10 catcih ,10 throwing....

3.they should have spend less time with the graphics..so they could have done other things..player models look good on first look..but then u see they all look the same..big middle...out of shape and proportioned everywhere..they should have just i\used nba 2k's graphic engine!!!

i'm liking this game..but is so much more to be desired!!!..

i read some more reviews and it seems mvp is a better choice..i'll try it out to see if it fits..but i'm liking my baseball experience..

will next years game have spring training and a more eazy to manage and maneuver franchise mode...

the in your face mode was fun and all that!!...the game is fun but i can see what hardcore baseball fans are talking about.!! this isn't up to vc's standard..and as a new baseball videogame fan lol!!..i want more damn it!!..i'll see if the mvp 05 is all it's cracked up to be...just have to pre-order the godfather first.(the previews talk about it's going to be good,better than mafia at least..if it blows then i'll be getting mvp 05)

p.s madden can own anything it want's that game sucks in gameplay and on the field play/presentation and all other's..IT has the best statistical on paper..menu/owner/franchise mode but what good is that with that dog poo gameplay..my 12 year old enjoys madden..2k5 is real man's football!!..
