    Does 2k6 have working scoreboards?

I don't know what it is about sports games, but a running scoreboard has always REALLY appealed to me. Anyone know if they are in this years game?

    Thanks,

I was hoping the 360 version would have Wrigley's out of town scores always correct, but I am sure that isnt possible yet, or is it? From the screen we got yesterday it said the Cubs were playing Pittsburgh, but Shannon Stewart was in the pic. So who knows

Oh it's possible and if it's not in the game, it's because of laziness. I would even like to see a little cut-scene where the guy changes the score for important games in the NL towards the end of the season, during a chase for the playoffs or somethin like that.

      Side note:
Did you see how bad the ivy looks in those screenshots as well? No bump texturing or anything? It looks like ivy wall paper. Is it so hard to make realistic looking ivy on a next-gen system?

I know most of you don't care, but I would love to see a bit more attention payed to the ivy at Wrigley since that is it's trademark. The ivy should change colors and fill in throughout the season like it really does, and the outfielders should have to quickly look for the ball in the ivy and signal for a ground rule double if it can't be found. Of course I know this is asking for way too much considering the fact that we still have rubber neck swings.

I should have mentioned the scoreboards being changed. That would be awesome. Yes the ivy looks plastic or something like that, can't quite explain it. Everything you mentioned would be awesome. Little details can make a big difference, but gameplay needs to be fixed first. Hopefully some of the 2nd generation 360 titles have found a way to use the 360 power to their advantage.

With power of 360, it should be.

It's definately possible. It was possible on the current XBox in ASB. That game had scoreboards that updated the league games going on, and the Ivy at Wrigley was brown when the season started, and then got green as the summer wore on.

You know, I still have that game and I can sort of remember that actually.

That was a great game, except for the tricky "fielder's cam." I was close to being a WSB/2K fanboy unitl ASB05 came out. It's sad that ASB is gone, because I think it had some really brilliant features. Come on, they even had Bartman in the game ala This Week In Baseball!

I never played ASB05, but I heard that it had some cool features that no baseball game has updated or even tried implementing 2-3 years later.

It ended up bing the game of choice for me. It was a really sad day when acclaim went belly up. I've never seen a developer more responsive to fan input as these guys were. The out of town and completely realistic scoreboards added so much to the gameplay........One last thing - no one has had better stadiums than these guys did - the ivy in wrigley being just one example along with the cillision detetection........just cool...

                          Soooooo true!

Do you remember how detailed the Franchise mode was too? Rule 5 draft, offer arbitration and even a rookie draft mid season. Plus, teams would relocate to new stadiums if you played long enough (50 stadiums).

Kush should really look at what Acclaim did right with ASB and implement those features into MLB2K games.

                          ------

The scoreboard at Fenway could also use a cutscene like the one I mentioned for Wrigley.

It wasn't just ASB 2005 that had the out of town scoreboards. They go as far back as ASB 2003 (Which actually came out in 2002...so no excuse for a game not to have them in 2006).

The scoreboards really are a nice touch. If I am playing NY at Bos, it is always a bit of a bummer when the scoreboard says NY is playing at Detroit.

Another cool ASB detail was imitation of bill-boards and landmarks such as the Citgo sign at Fenway.

I still own ASB and sometime I do the stadium tour just to say wow again. And I even have a 360...thats how good the stadiums look in the game. There were just a few gameplay moments that stopped it from being my game of choice.
