Nope but I'm hopeful as I am every year. I've enjoyed MVP the last couple of years.

No. I loved HH, but I still haven't played a console game that stacks up to it.

The closest to High Heat? Not a chance.

An alternative/answer? Well, it's a different game... so it's really your call. If you can agree upon vast changes between the two games, then I don't think you'll have a problem with it.

Started with HH 2000 and followed the series to the end... I was a big poster over at the Clubhouse (those were some good days)

Closest game to HH... well, I don't think any game has come close to capturing the feel of that game. I remember how I could get a game done as quickly or as slowly as I wanted. It also had the sweetest manage-only mode in a game (take a custom camera, sit in your favorite seat and watch the ballgame).

<sigh>... I had amazing times with that game. For me, this series has been the closest but its not even remotely close in actuality.

2K6 being the answer to High Heat? No, not to me(not yet anyway). When I heard High Heat company was going bankrupt and won't be any more HH(sniff), I immediately bought Xbox to try to find some kind of replacement for my most played game of all time. I bought Sega's 2k4, based on some positive reviews, and just couldn't stand the dull gameplay.

Since then I've tried MVP baseball series, and while still no Highheat, it was still a lot more fun to play than that of Sega's offerings. I don't have PS2 so I couldn't try MLB series from Sony, but from what I've heard from some diehard highheaters that it was the closest thing to HH out of all the baseball offerings. So out of the big three(2kX, Mlb, and MVP)baseball games, Sega's series was the least likely answer to being HH savior.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd love love LOVE the new version 2K6 to have improved significantly gameplay-wise, compared to the mediocre at best previous versions of the series. I'm gonna wait for some review to show up and if it is just glowing like never before, I'll pick it up and hopefully to play every day mirroring the entire season of real MLB games, which was the case for me with High Heat before. Awesome game.

This is a pretty loaded question when you think about it. Like asking if there will ever be another band like the Beatles.

To me, the player models and player animations in the 2K series look oddly similar to the ones in the HH series: not pretty, and horribly stilted. I've wondered if the same people who put HH together, ended up getting jobs with Kush.

It's a shame they didn't bring the devs who made the game a baseball fan's dream along with them

along with the devs that made people who bought it play 10 seasons. The Beatles comparison is spot on in this case.

Not a chance? I disagree. High Heat, unfortunately is gone. Long live The Show. Hope it gets better next year.

Glad to see all of the former HH'ers still around. I played HH2004 through the actual 2004 season, then switched to MVP last season. It was O.K. but a notch below HH.

This Spring I'm contemplating playing a full season again on HH 2004. Also wishing Microsoft would announce a surprise for PS3 and resurrect the series.

May have to try the Show.
