Hate to keep bringing up mlb the show in this forum but they do the best job as a pitching interface.

As for HH, I liked the pitching interface mixed with the variable umpire. It gave a realistic sense where you never knew from game to game how the strike zone was going to be called.

I still love that I was actually able to walk a batter in HH without doing so intentionally. I haven't seen that since (and always play with all pitching aids off).

Then you have no idea what you're missing in The Show. That happens very accurately if you have the pitching on classic.

I know.

From everything I hear, it's excellent. I just can't justify to myself to buy a PS2 when I just got a 360. Especially when the PS2 will be "obsolete" once the PS3 comes out.

Of course, if the PS3 is amazing and SCEA's version of MLB is amazing and I can't take 2K's baseball game anymore, I might think about trading in my 360 for a PS3. Time will tell though.

I'm in the same boat. What I decided was take the money I saved by not buying a PS2, and apply it to my 360 purchase, meaning I bought my 360 for 35% off! Sure, it’s really just a psychological trick, but my brain doesn’t know the difference, so it’s pretty excited.

The other thing: you WILL be playing 2K6. I WILL be playing 2K6. It’s destiny. Otherwise, what’s that incredibly expensive piece of entertainment hardware doing sitting on top of my TV? (I'm over-riding my brain at this moment.) Seriously, the game WILL tide us over until The Show comes out on the PS3, or 2K comes to their senses and builds a completely new game engine with all new animations.

I didn't care for The Show, I'm one of the few as almost everyone who has played it loved it. This is from someone who last year played the tar out of MLB 06. I loved that game. Just this year's was just blah to me. I couldn't place a finger on it.

I hear ya... it's tough man. But to be completely honest, I purchased a 360 and spend most of my time on it now simply using it as a Windows Media Center Extender. I spend all my gaming time with MLB '06: The Show. Go figure.

Nothing has even come close to comparing to HH's offerings on the PC back in the day. The game was so addicting. I probably played close to 300-400 online games a year with that series. You would play a game and 30min later be ready for another one. I haven't played another game since HH that captures the fun online I had with the game... NBA 2k6 and CH2k6 360 are close though.

I don't have much hope for Sega 2k6.. but being that I mainly play online, it's really my only option for leagues. Anything above average and I will be pleasently surprised.

As a former player of HH 2003 and 2004 (I still have the games for my PS2), I loved the game engine and the stat/data presentaion and typed end-of-game summary...

However.........

as noted on this site before, the crash test dummy player models were a definite NOT! The stadium deatil was horrific and the homerun cut scenes....no comment...lol


With this newly anticipated game, I dont get the feeling that 2K6 is gonna blaze it's way to glory...it's possible they may do a crash/burn...lol

IF I had to declare right now yes or no...I'm saying no.

Started with HH 2000 and followed the series to the end... I was a big poster over at the Clubhouse (those were some good days)

Haha.. I remember you wxkid at the zone.com. We probably played a game or two. Going into zone.com lobby and just hang out... talking to other players there and playing a few ladder games... man those were the days.

Just traded in my Xbox for a PS2 b/c of The Show and other PS2 exclusives. The thing is, one other thing that enticed me to make this move is that even after the PS3 comes out, Sony will continue to support the PS2 for awhile (like it supported the PS1), which will keep me happy until I am able to compare both next-gen systems and make a decision on which one to get.
