Interesting interpretation of gamespot review.

people are upset with this 7 rating.

Lets take a good look at this rating.
gameplay-8......well that sounds pretty darn good!

graphics -6......hmmmmmnot great but baseball fans want a good baseball game graphics are secondary....besides 360 should remedy this(should)

sound-7....not bad at all.....usually the weak area for ball games anyway...but cretainly respectable considering no espn license.

value-8 ......hot dam nothing like getting my moneys worth.

tilt-6.......WTF is Tilt!

Tilt is "While this component is not intended to be directly representative of our overall experience with a game, we use it to influence the overall rating one way or another, based on our overall experience. For instance, a technically impressive game that's highly unoriginal may be tilted low, while a game with a truly outstanding story but an unremarkable presentation may be tilted high."

So this freaking number pulled from the reviewrs arse skews the number...now we can see whats happening here.

If you read the review you can see that he even liked most everything except Presentation.....again a secondary on most gamers lists.

So fret not.....This game still has a chance....when the 360 one comes we shall see.

I for one have now become educated....I have been wondering for a while now why I have not agreed with gamespots reviews so often and now i have the answer. They can skew it for whatever reason they please...and no one can comment agaist it.......kickbacks anyone

Good point. It just bothers me that both IGN and Gamespot came up w/a 7. I am holding off on this purchase. NCAA b-ball received at least an 8 and MLB the Show did also...so to read that this game barely received a rating above 7 (by more than 1 reviewer) is not too cool for me.

I really don't understand why people spend their time trying to justify a review. Take it for what it is worth: an insight on a game you haven't played yet.

Always read reviews with caution... you never know who exactly is reviewing the title. Just try the game yourself.

But to be up in arms over a review... geez... do people really care THAT MUCH??

Good point. It just bothers me that both IGN and Gamespot came up w/a 7. I am holding off on this purchase. NCAA b-ball received at least an 8 and MLB the Show did also...so to read that this game barely received a rating above 7 (by more than 1 reviewer) is not too cool for me.

I like reading Gaminformers reviews, and in there Review of MLB the Show they said the feliding was really not good, so I don't see how people are bashing MLB2k6.

I tend to agree with you and am not worried about the overall score they gave the game. Once I saw the gameplay and value area of the game scored well I was pumped because I knew the graphics would be much better on the 360 version. They rated the audio portion of the game a little low but if it is anything like last years game I'll be happy. I mean seriously, how could John Miller and Joe Morgan not be good. Their commentary last year was outstanding.

I like reading Gaminformers reviews, and in there Review of MLB the Show they said the feliding was really not good, so I don't see how people are bashing MLB2k6.

C'mon FF... you're better than that. You loved MLB last year, and the fielding is better this year.

I don't trust any reviews, let alone one from a magazine where they try and sell you a subscription for $10 at GameStop.

I'll wait until the 360 version... the current gen version is not to my thing...

But I do look for the factual elements to it. And in those reviews they've noted many issues that really arent debateable IMO. They've then been confirmed and expanded on by the individuals here, @ 2K boards, ect...

I agree, the review coupled with comments on the threads makes me a little weary. Pared should check the 9 innings playing MLB 2K thread if he wants real impressions even though the author is a CPU watcher. He points out AI issues and certain flaws that sliders may not adjust. My guess is that the 360 although better graphically will have some of these annoying flaws too. Its all a matter of how much one will tolerate these flaws. Everyone is different...

I read lots of reviews. But i only decide on a game by playing it myself. And ive decided i like this game enough to get the 360 version

Ok, so obviously the Value score is going to go down, because the game is $60, not $40. And we all hope the graphics score will go up, but who knows. So let's not say that the next-gen will be the saviour. And oh btw, I think the presentation of The Show is the best part of the game. And no, I'm not saying one is better than the other, just saying that presentation does matter.

I'm not surprised. I've had the game for one day and I think it is garbage. I liked 2k5 a lot, but this is horrible.

I think we all would be better served if we just read the reviews and tried our best to NOT look at the scores. They're meaninless anyway.

I just laugh at both IGN and Gamespot. They admitted it was an improvement over last years, but they gave it a much lower score than last years.

Gee I wonder if the great playing MVP had anything to do with the padding of last years score of 2K5, or the lack of competition this year had anything to do with lowering it in 2K6?

I read from other sites like Team Xbox (they were not biased, I know hard to imagine) and other sites, and I like what I read.

I only read reviews for their content, because places like IGN and Gamespot, 9 times out of 10 the score does not reflect what they write. It is just something to keep their message boards hopping.
