360 version only plays in widescreen?

I have a SDTV AND DONT WANT THE BLACK BARS ON MY SCREEN. Is there a option to have normal screen? Haventbeen able to find it. THANKS.

WTF!!!!! Now I need to dish out $800 for an HDTV just so I can play this game without giving myself a migrane!?!?!? Do you guys remember that Easter comercial for some sort of candy where the little kid has a black eye, and he didn't get what he wanted for Easter so he's standing there and in a very monotone voice says "thank you Easter Bunny" Well that's how I feel. "Thank you 2K sports!" For the lousy letterbox only presentation and the migrane.

Thats how the game shipped. If you want it to fill the whole screen you must turn it to widescreen on your 4:3 tv's. The guys will be a little distorted, but at least it will fill the whole screen... yes and I know it sucks

Actually you can get a decent HDTV now for about $500. I can't imagine owning a 360 and playing it on a regular TV. Wouldn't that be like buying a Ferrari and then driving in the school zone? Ok maybe not that bad but you guys should seriously consider upgrading if you can at all afford it!

You do have an excellent point ODogg. But if I buy a lower end HDTV will it still look "sharp" for my 360. Also, will the lower end HDTV still give a good picture for TV broadcast.

I understand and respect your point. However, having bought a 48" rear projection Sony SDTV only 3 1/2 years ago, no way can I justify buying a HDTV for a game console. At 52, with a wife on disability, and getting custody of a grandchild, we have more pressing financial needs that a new TV purchase. And I'm sure there are a lot of other folks who enjoy gaming that have similiar responsibilities.

From a technical perspective, I've been in the computer business for 28 years working as a developer from business to graphics applications. The current trend of "next-gen" console requirements for HDTV is nonsense. If they want to support HDTV, fine it is the future, but release games that still function in full screen mode on recent SDTV. There are many other programming techniques available for graphics then simply rendereing everything in hi-def. Keep in mind that HDTV penetration in the U.S. is roughly from 15-20% of households. In Europe it is much lower.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just fed up with the current practice of software development in the gaming industry forcing consumers to purchase expensive additional hardware to enjoy the product. The 360 is the best hardware console design to date, but develop the games for both HDTV and SDTV.

widescreen for SDTV, thats BS!. I had a 14 inch SDTV piece of crap, well since 360 was suppose to be a lot better on HDTV. A week after I got 360 at launch, I got a sony 42 inch lcd projection hdtv. I gotta pay it off within 2 years using my dad's credit card with no interest. $2800 for the tv(1700), tv stand($254), dvd player($140), warranty($400), and tax($200). Some games u notice a lot of difference but its obvious they didn't put much effort in mlb 2k6. Hopefully mlb 2k7 there will be a difference but with 2ksports track record with baseball games, chances are slim

I am really twisted about this. The font size is so small you basically have to sit so close to the screen. It is a shame because the game was workable, going to have to pass on the purchase now.

Guys I don't understand why people are so upset. From day-1 Microsoft has said that all 360 titles would be in HD & WIDESCREEN. So this isn't new info.

If your having a problem go into your 360 dashboard. Go to DISPLAY. Change the Aspect Ratio to 4:3 & then to Pan & Scan.. This should help.
