    1st person catcher mode...how?

The manual talks about going into 1st person mode when trying to throw out a stealing runner or a pick off at 1st (from the catcher).

I saw the mode (only when trying to throw out the stealing runner at 2nd...the snap throw to 1st did not produce the 1st person mode)...but how does it work?

I see these red boxes...but what do you do? Do you have to hold down the "Y" button to throw to 2nd? The manual also talks about throwing to diff sides of the bag...how?

Just wondering...enjoying the game so far...no freezes (knock on wood...only played 2 games last night).

Oh yeah...one last question...what do the flashing red boxes mean during a pitch (as the batter). When Beckett pitched to me last night...during the windup..I saw these flashing red boxes...did not know what they mean (manual does not talk about them either).

    thanks for the responses!

the flashing red boxes are where you want to place your pitch. these are called "Payoff Pitches". they show up in clutch situations and if you get the pitch in the box you get a ratings boost. check the manual under "Payoff Pitching".

i can't help you with the catcher though, my game continually freezes before anyone dares to steal on the feared arm of Piazza.

Catcher cam comes into play, when you throw your pitch and while the ball is in flight, you press the button icon of the base the runner or the base he is trying to steal. The next step is to line up the Red reticle with the analog stick and it becomes just like pitching press the button again as the reticle gets smaller for accuracy.

Wow, didn't know that you could go in to catcher mode whenever you wanted. I thought it just automatically did it for you when you had the option.

That makes it pretty interesting. I might try a few snap throws now when I'm facing a team that steals alot (damn White Sox).
