    Pitching stamina dropping to fast?

I am using the M's in franchise and was pitching with Jamie Moyer. It was just the 4th inning and he only had 49% stamina left and yes he did start out with 100%. Don't you think for someone who doesn't throw so fast, that that is a dramatic loss in stamina so early?

The first slider adjustment I made was to change the "pitcher fatigue" thing to 40%. On default All Star it is 65%. I am pretty happy with 40 atm.

That is exactly what I did. It seems right at 40. Just my 2 cents.
I am the lesson after the fall.

Im not sure if it is true, but i belive yesterday when i was playing a franchise game my pitcher's energy actually increased between innings when I had a fairly long at bat.

I set it to either 35 or 36.

After doing so I got a 93 pitch outing from Jake Peavy that had him at 20%. That seemed about right to me, anywhere in the 35-40 range comes out pretty realistic.

Yup. I set it to 15 just to see what would happen and I noticed I had 80% left after 40 or so pitches so that was too low. Some guys can throw 130 pitches so for me I try to use that to set the slider.

A mix of both. I need to adjust some sliders though cause I throw too many strikes and the computer doesnt take enough, so i have never reached 100 yet.

Why fix sliders instead of understanding the mechanic?

You're throwing full effort all the time. Part of the risk/reward of the "effectiveness" mechanic is that it tires the pitcher out.

I've managed 8 innings (yet to do a CG) by throwing minimal "effectiveness" through most of the lineup and saving full effors for big out pitches, or for the heart of the lineup.

Hi Fossen. For me its accurate pitch counts. A guy like Carlos Zambrano will always be over 100 pitches unless he gets rocked and pulled early. With the slider on default and minimal effort used, I don't think he can make that count. Now as I said in my previous post I havent gotten to that point yet due to other issues, but my math and the current stamina at the moment tells me he wouldn't get there. Just my 2c.

Yeah, but I can confirm that I've gotten Capuano down to 64% after 22 "light" pitches, 3-4 "strong" ones. Dude's a horse come on now. Sometimes he's at 7% after 3 innings. I'll be doing some sliderish tweakalitude.

Re: Pitching stamina dropping to fast?

Yeah I was getting drained down to the teens by the 5th, all while being conservative in how much effort I put into each pitch with the stronger effort pitches being rare...maybe 1 an inning if that. I pitch realistically and the CPU on All-Star seems to have good plate discipline. In my 93 pitch outing with Peavy I threw 62 strikes and 31 balls through 7.1 innings. Same deal with a mostly conservative effort on each pitch. So it came out about right for me. On the other hand Im not quite patient enough at the plate so the CPU with Jason Schmidt was still at like 50% in the 8th inning since he had only thrown like 55 pitches lol.

So you are saying the only way that MLB pitchers pitch 8+ innings is by trying to throw with "minimal effectiveness" on their pitches?
Doesnt sound like a recipe to be an effective starter...

Well, I was playing a game against the Brew Crew, and Capuano's stamina was pretty bad, haha. By the end of the 4th inning, he was at 0. Surprisingly, he did pretty good against me, but I think it's because I'm hitting inept.

                            I think 40 works.

I threw a complete game with Pedro last night. You have to mix up your pitch speeds, just like in real life.
