Question about hitting w/ swing stick (360).

I know to hit fly balls by pushing the stick up and a regular swing to release the stiick. But how do I vary the direction I hit the ball? I seem to hit almost everything to left field. How do I hit all over the field. What about bloopers or ground balls? How much manipulation can I use?

I think you use the left thumbstick for that...havent used it yet though.
