    Launch unit no freezes.

However if it's not a HD problem, that doesn't explain how formatting the HD magically fixes the problem.

Launch unit. Never had a freeze on any game yet. I feel bad for you guys. Hopefully they fix the problem.

Launch unit. No freezing but i have a different problem. During my games, the game gets dark and i can't see. I have to hit a button on my gamepad to get the game picture back. I guess i can make do insted of exchanging it again. What do you think. Make do or exchange it fora different shipment and see if it still does it.

Are you sure this isnt the xbox 360's 'screen saver' feature? Go to the dashboard/system/console settings and disable the Screen Saver - It dims the screen after a certain amount of time without touching a button.

Doesnt for everyone. Just like removing the HD doesnt fix it for everyone. Just like turning off the sounds/cutscenes doesnt fix it for everyone. Just like deleting the VIP doesnt fix it for everyone.

Most likely there is more then one problem going on. The game hits a point for different reasons that says "Somethings wrong. Goto: What to do when somethings wrong program." And the "What to do when somethings wrong program" is messed up and causes a freeze. Different people are seeing different "Somethings wrong's" but seeing the same end result. Some are just lucky that their "Somethings wrong" is fixed by one of the various bandaids. Treats the symptom, but not the disease.
