    360 vs. xbox version

Is there really that much difference? With all the freezing issues, I wonder if I would be better off exchanging for the xbox version? Many say there is not a big difference graphcially or gameplaywise.

Graphically, BIG difference... if 2K6 Xbox looks like 2K5, which it does from the screens I saw. As far as gameplay, I couldn't tell you but I'm hearing they're the same. I can't play the 360 version because of my non-widescreen TV (I'm currently playing a rental copy) which would be the only reason I'd consider the Xbox version.

Without widescreen, don't you just get the two black lines?

Yes, and that reduces the screen size and in-game perspective by maybe 30%. Then, they made the zoom cam in 2K6 futher back from the batter. The zoom at 100% is maybe the same as the zoom at 25% in 2K5. So I literally can't see the game while I play. I have to switch to widescreen mode, which eliminates the black bars, but stretches the players all to heck.

I only played the 360 version briefly and wouldn't purchase either version, but it only looked slightly better. The real improvement was the controller.

The thing people aren't saying is the game has been TOTALLY revamped from a graphics perspective. Even the players models are 200% better, although they eliminated the ability to edit body types, which was dumb. But the Xbox version and the 360 version look like two totally different games, and I'm not even playing on an HDTV.

Couple all that with the fact that the animations are vastly improved, and it's hard to understand how anyone can say the 360 version only looks slightly better.

I wouldn't agree, but you've played the 360 version far more than me. I just saw nothing that drastic or improved in a 360 game. More depth of field effect to be sure. And I was playing on a HD set. Certainly the animations weren't drastically better.

It's a personal thing I guess -- like shampoo or mouthwash. Or maybe I should say personal hygienic thing...?

IDK what ppl are saying about the animation problem. I played 2 games at my cousins house on an HDTV and i didn't notice ANY animation problems at all, everything looked smooth. But maybe it was a fluke. The only problem was the framerate every now and then.

Go play MVP05 or The Show, then get back to us on how "smooth" the animation is.
