Every 2K sports game was a port to the 360..In that case all of these next gen titles would have a native res of 480p, & is just upscalled to 720/1080i..

I would beg to differ KBI. NBA 2K6 looks much different in 480p than it does in 720p/1080i. You can tell there's a significant difference. With this game you can't see significant differences between 480p 720p & 1080i

That clearly is NOT the case for numerous reasons, the main one being the identical gameplay.

so someone answear my question, when I turn it to 480p, there are two black bars on the side, I have a widescreen TV, if I set the 360 to 480p wide, I should see the bars right?

FF, you're seing those balck lines on the sides because your TV is not overscanning the image. If you change your 360 dashboard to 480p I don't think the lines will go away. Give it a try & see what happens. It only takes 2 seconds

WTF are you talking about? They eliminated a large portion of the bugs from from current gen 2k6 when the 360 version of NBA 2k6 on the 360.

For you to claim NBA 2k6 on the 360 is the same on current gen. gameplay wise makes you lose all sense of credibility. They tightened up some things here and there. Hell, they even changed how you do certain moves with the triggers.

If you meant you were expecting a different game completely, then that's absolutely foolish. We're still talking about NBA 2k6. I wouldn't expect the game to be radically different. It's the same year release.

They could have released the game EXACTLY like current gen. and they didn't. They had extra time to put into the 360 version of NBA and it shows. That's not the same case with MLB 2k6.

Hey that's cool, and I've heard good things about the NBA game on 360. But that is not a case of porting down from 360, if you want a real example of that play the xbox version of GRAW.

Well, if you want to get REAL technical about things, the current-gen versions of NBA 2K6 were in fact ported down from the 360, while the current-gen versions of GRAW were actually developed separately by entirely different teams...

Sure it was.. Tell that to GS.IGN.TXB. 1up. EGM. etc. Bashing by pointing out that their Next Gen titles are simple ports from the xbox version..Wow.. You are defensive..

The gameplay is the same in many regards..Sorry, but tweaking the gameplay for the 360, due to time restraints for the Xbox version, isn't next gen, nor is it using the powers of the 360.. I want added features & gameplay that VC couldn't do in the Xbox version due to the limited xbox hardware..

What did we get for 60.00.. low res Xbox type courts, coaches, arenas, crowd (now 3D) that are now in HD..NEW player models.. smoother animation, gameplay tweaks, plus a few new animations..
Wow.. VC really unleashed the power of the 360..

if this game is truely 480p and upconverted to 720 it will not change framerate at all. It is not a matte of mor epixels graphically.....it would be a seperate process chip to upconvert the signal. Thus no framerate difference.

Correct.

It is coded for both 480p and 720p, thus is the reason you see a framerate difference, because they are using a 1280x720 resolution, and not having a seperate chip upscale it.

Has nothing to do with being defensive. You're posting misinformation all over the boards, that's all. Go read the all the dev. articles they've posted and of all those games, they noted specifically the NBA title was where the game was originally created.

The game was released a month later and you want more... you should be happy they were able to cram all they did into the CURRENT-GEN versions, not the other way around.

And AGAIN, the gameplay is the same b/c it's the SAME GAME. I don't know how difficult a concept that is to understand. Maybe they should have gone all graphics and no gameplay/modes like another game? Oh, THAT'S RIGHT. Another train-wreck of a game did that...
