Did anyone who has a PS2 buy this game?

From reading reviews and impressions it seems like most people with PS2s went with The Show, and XBox and 360 people went with 2k6. This has got to send a pretty strong message to Take Two I'd think. Did anyone buy 2K6 for the PS2?

I have rented 2k6 and will rent the show, but so far I will probably be buying 2k6 for sure. (and The Show if it's THAT good)

It's converting HARDCORE MVP and High Heat lovers, so I'll let that speak for itself.

I had always hated 989 sports games, and was hardcore MVP fan.

That being said, the SHOW might be the best baseball game I have EVER played. Complete package. And I own it for PSP. I also own 2K6 for 360, and the SHOW blows it out of the water in almost every category that counts.

Re: Did anyone who has a PS2 buy this game?

I initially purchased MVP 2006 NCAA for my PS2 because I felt that last year's MVP game was the best baseball game for both systems (PS2 and Xbox) So I figured I had to give it a shot. I am a huge fan of any and all baseball and football titles that come out. MVP has always been my favorite for baseball, and 2K for football. I liked this year's MVP, and I loved the new "Swing Stick" batting interface. But it just didn't do it for me. I traded it in for MLB '06 Baseball "The Show." It doesn't have the "Swing Stick," but IMO it is a truly immersive baseball simulation. I could go into more detail, but if you have a PS2 and are a baseball fan you cannot go wrong with this title. I almost wish I hadn't made the purchase because I also have an Xbox 360. I have been waiting for MLB 2K6 to come out, and the reviews for the Xbox version have been less than stellar. One of my buddies (who suggest "The Show" to me) from a little forums group I run for sports gamers (http://townie33.proboards44.com/index.cgi ) was complaining about how bad the Xbox version was. But he could not believe how much better the 360 version was. MLB 2K6 for the 360 is a fantastic game. If you have an HDTV you will be amazed at how good it looks. You will fall in love with the new pitching interface. It is very intuitive. The game has the "Swing Stick" which some hate because it does take some work. But this new "Inside Edge" scouting point system is very, very nice. Your catcher no only calls the pitch for you, but will set up in the right location. It is very cool. And if you hit the right "spot" on a 3-2 count or an 0-2 count (I think) your ratings points go up for that particular pitch. It's called a "Payoff Pitch" and will show at the top of the screen (just not big enough or bright enough for these tired old eyes). These are just a couple of the highlights of the 2K game. Believe me, there are many. It is a very immersive game offline, and a very, very quick game online because they did away with all cut scenes online. BTW, you can't use the "Inside Edge" system in Online or Season modes. It's only good in GM and Franchise modes. For my PS2 "The Show" is the baseball game to have. I believe it actually is a better baseball sim than this year's 2K version. But, hey, I've dropped a few $$ on this new system I better be playing a baseball game on it, right? And this one is very, very good.
